Just to mix it up once again I will rank this group by UTOC success since 14/15 players competed in it. Sorry, Ryan Moore. The money shown is initial appearances only.
Brad Rutter (5 wins) $55,102 (UTOC winner)
Pam Mueller (C) $50,000 (Super Six)
Lan Djang (5) $51,100 (Elite 18)
Mark Eckard (5) $69,600 (Round 2)
Tad Carithers (5) $60,400 (Round 2)
Rick Knutsen (5) $57,300 (Round 2)
Doug Lach (5) $85,400 (Round 1)
Babu Srinivasan (5) $75,100 (Round 1)
Andrew Garen (5) $56,100 (Round 1)
Michelle Clum (5) $50,200 (Round 1)
Kevin Keach (5) $50,703 (Round 1)
Bob Fleenor (5) $55,700 (Round 1)
Larry Cloud (5) $66,100 (Round 1)
Michael Arnone (5) $54,499 (Round 1)
Ryan Moore (5) $39,800 (DNP)
Platinum chances for the 45: Brad Rutter
24-Carat Gold chances for the 45: Pam Mueller
Gold-Plated chances for the 45: Lan Djang
Silver chances for the 45: Babu Srinivasan, Tad Carithers and Rick Knutsen
Bronze chances for the 45: Mark Eckard
Copper chances for the 45: Doug Lach, Michelle Clum and Ryan Moore
Tin chances for the 45: Bob Fleenor, Larry Cloud, Andrew Garen, Kevin Keach, and Michael Arnone
The 2001 TOC Field is a deep one with 1/3 of the UTOC Super Six. Brad and Pam have to be in included in the Decades tournament.
I'm guessing that Lan's success in the UTOC will help his cause. If the powers keep their concentration to money, wins and TOC only then Lan's stock goes down. Rick and Tad both made the finals of the TOC and won a match in the UTOC.
Babu gets silver as well for hitting big wagers in the TOC and a painful UTOC loss with "All's Quiet..."
Mark Eckard can't be dismissed, but how many slots can one group get?
I put Ryan in the Copper with Doug and Michelle for the sympathy card of seeing all 14 of his TOC opponents get to the UTOC with him being the only one on the sidelines.
If Babu's UTOC loss was painful then I'll call Doug's UTOC loss, heartbreaking. (No offense to Leah.) Doug led 26,400 to 23,400 and called the famous Van Gogh work "Starry Nights" while Leah knew the proper title. From Ruttered in the TOC QF game to that Doug has had tough times on J! His fame lives on with Lach Trash though.
Bob, Larry, Andrew and Kevin had forgettable TOC results, but all four made good showings in losing efforts in the UTOC.
Michael Arnone was 2400-2400=0 in the TOC and 4000-4000=0 in the UTOC.
