Familiar Face on "The Chase" (Spoilers for The Chase)

Post by MarkBarrett »

GSN is airing the American version of The Chase later today. Having seen the promos I have recognized more than one previous Jeopardy! contestant. Like the thread for Millionaire I like one place for such discussion rather than it being scattered all over Reretaken Down.

Two episodes are airing today, so that is six contestants, not counting The Beast. I'm avoiding the thread once the games start airing until after I have a chance to watch. My suggestion is spoiler tags about results would be a courtesy for delayed viewers.

Posting that so and so is a player should be fine without saying how that person did.

I'm wondering if a familiar face I recognize is the host. Was she also on Dog Eat Dog ? Or just a clone from the same test tube?

ETA: I see now it is. Wow, her wiki bio is actually somewhat interesting. Not just a BHBB.

I was unfamiliar with some of the finer details of The Chase, until I too saw an ad.

Hmm, the main "boss" opponent is insanely knowledgeable, condescending, and arrogant? Maybe it's Austin Powers, he even has a British accent!

I don't know about the other five players tonight, but he gets one more game show to his list of appearances: http://www.j-archive.com/showplayer.php?player_id=7109

Is it just me, or did I see Jay Rhee in the opening sequence?

Yes, and there are other J! players as well that have not aired yet. One has stayed sharp with appearances on "The Experts."

I met Jay at the D.C. tryouts for "The Chase", and silently cursed him for being more charismatic than I. I expected him to be picked. So much for the power of my curses.

There were several former J! contestants at my L.A. "Chase" audition, but I'll let them out themselves if they want.

I really enjoyed this show but the big guy looks pretty vulnerable when it comes to entertainment and US centric stuff. It would be nice to see an american chaser. Maybe someone like Ben Stein would be fun.

Heather was in my audition. It was pretty obvious they were going to pick her.

I like the host of the show a lot. She'd be a good replacement for Alex!

The questions on this show are ridiculously easy. On tonight's show, the first contestant humiliated himself.

On tonight's show........
Spoiler
A gay man missed a question about Harvey Milk.
Best way to watch the show is to record it and then you can fast forward through all the crap.

You were messing with my mind. GSN is on eastern timing for me, so I get to watch it at 6:00 my time. Seeing your post before the show was over had me wondering how you saw it before me. I did not dare check the spoiler box before the end. So, you were only commenting on an earlier question? You got me.

Thanks writers. I'll never listen to the
Spoiler
Johnny Cash classic the same way again. The Final Chase set of questions seemed a lot easier for The Beast than the guys. That plus the already built-in advantage for the house meant the money was safe.
Yes, watching on DVR is much better than sitting through all 60 minutes.

OK, correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't watched, only seen discussion on here and among other trivia friends, and the ads; so this is basically the same game format as Win Ben Stein's Money?
