I auditioned at the Westin Times Square the same day. Were you at the earliest one? My group was all men.
I was in the 11:30 session. All men. One guy with a nice cashmere sweater. Lots o' lawyers. And, I'm pretty sure, Geoff Mitelman, the rabbi who was on the 3/16/2016 show.

Hi Jill! Thanks for the welcome. Yes, it was a loooooooong wait, but so definitely worth it. So excited to watch us next week. I've been in the papers here in Allentown, so my 15-minute fame clock has been on full tick-down. Fun,fun, fun!

Longtime, first time. Just got my audition invite for Detroit on June 11th. I am ECSTATIC but I haven't been watching the show very much recently, so I will be going into prep overdrive.

Thanks! 50% of us getting to an audition is better than we've ever had, so I'm very happy with this.

Well we've heard Charleston and Detroit, but nothing on Raleigh...

Interesting pattern, I can still have hope this is finally the year.

Lets hope that there's another wave of Detroit audition emails. I'm 6/6 passing the test, if you include the Sports Jeopardy! tests, and have still not been to an audition.

3 times since we've been dating, but I didn't ask her if she took the test before then. I have probably taken it 6 or 7 times, no invites yet. I'll be making the trip out to Detroit with her anyway since I've never been.

Also, there is a reddit thread with people who got Detroit invites:

Given what people have written about Detroit auditions, It looks like I'm not among the elect.

That said, my congratulations to those who are going to audition in the "D". While you're here, make sure you try a pint of Michigan-brewed beer. Cheers, all!

Try some even if you're not there...Founders Porter and Breakfast Stout are my recommendations.

Fun fact: That beer was originally called "Solsun" but Mexico's Sol brewery sent Bell's a cease-and-desist order. Larry Bell, who had acted in A Midsummer Night's Dream in high school, renamed the beer Oberon.

Bells
Founders
New Holland (my hometown!)
Atwater
Dark Horse
Shorts

And the list goes on.

Being from the Mitten, I don't get a ton of outside perspective on the popularity of the state's craft brew industry, with notable exceptions. A couple months ago I found myself chatting up a group of out-of-towners. It turned out they were from Saskatchewan and came all the way to West Michigan to drink craft beer because they heard good buzz about it.

Since it looks like I'm going another year without an invite, I'll also put in a plug for Michigan wines, especially those from the Old Mission Peninsula outside of Traverse City. Chateau Grand Traverse makes a variety of excellent Rieslings from dry to sweet and also one of the finest Gamays I've had from the US. Left Foot Charley also makes a great lineup of wines.

I noticed on the application that you are asked if you know any former contestants, how often you communicate with them, etc. How much bearing does this question have on your chances of making the show?
