Welcome to JBoard, AgentSeto! I joined earlier this year and find it a great place to learn about all things Jeopardy!. The Think Different games are fun, too! Glad to have you here. :)

Thanks. :)
I meant to register weeks ago when I first saw it on the list of upcoming TDs. As it seems, procrastination finds me here now. Better late than never, though.

Hi, everyone. My name's Jesse, and I'm from north central PA. I've lurked off and on as a guest for a while now, but I've been checking out the Think Different game and figured I should actually sign up and give that a try. I usually check in and out around the time of the online test, but maybe with that, I'll stick around a while.

Fun fact: Being a child of the 80s, I received an NES system for Christmas 26 years ago. Unlike most children who received Super Mario Bros. 2 or Legend of Zelda that year, however, the first game I wanted other than the pack-in was Jeopardy. Yep, a nerd, even at 8 years old.

Hi all, I'm Ben! I've been a Jeopardy! fan for most of my life but have decided to make a serious run at getting on the show recently. I was on Wheel of Fortune in October (it aired earlier this month) and we did our briefing/document signing in the Jeopardy! studio. After that I said "I've got to be on that show!" If anyone wants to talk about studying topics/methods shoot me a message, I'm always looking to improve how I'm going about getting "show ready."

Used to post on old Sony board a long time ago.

Tried out for Jeopardy seven times so far. My first tryout was in 1994 in Grand Rapids, Michigan-they haven't been back since. I alternated between Detroit and Chicago for the next 6. I've taken the online tests and got my last audition (2009-Chicago) that way.

I'm waiting for them to announce this year's test.

Hello all! I'm Renee. I am a middle school teacher of a rambunctious group of 8th graders, attempting to teach all 130 of them the early history of the United States. Which makes it really fun when FJ is something that I've just been teaching the kids!

I've been a lurker on the boards for awhile, but I've played TDs with my dad, so now I want my own profile!

I've attempted to get on the show, but never made it past the online quiz. Maybe 2015 will be my year! :D

Welcome! I was lucky enough to pass the online quiz on my first try and get an audition. I'm still hoping for a call, but I'll keep trying the online tests when they come up if there's no call. Just don't give up. :)

I'm pretty sure you have a 2 or ?3 year 'cool-down' wait after going on WOF before you can try out for J!

That said, it gives you plenty of time to prepare, spend it well, many tips on these boards!

It's a year, not two or three.

1 Year is correct. I'm debating whether or not I should take the next test that comes out. I'm not sure if I would even be able to pass it just yet but if I did get an in-person audition I wonder if not being eligible for a few months after would effect my selection. I would really like to get on before AT retires though...

You should absolutely just take it to see how tough it is and what you need to learn. I got 22/50 first time, seems like a median for most fairly literate folks that take it cold. Much focused preparation is required to really know some of the odd and quirky clues in all these categories! Hmm, gosh if the CoolDown is only a year I could tryout for WOF and have moar study time for J! But I'd really like to try and get there while AT Is still hosting; 2016 probly the last year for him, I'm guessing as we know he's getting testy with TPTB, although he dearly loves the show... :ugeek:

Hi all! I'm a big fan of Jeopardy! and hope to be on the show someday—I've figured lately that I should start trying more consciously to prepare. I tried out for the Teen Tournament about a decade ago and passed the test but wasn't selected, but I've watched the show for years now and love it. I remember reading the old Sony board (if I'm recalling correctly) a little bit back around the time of my Teen Tournament audition, so it's cool to see this newer forum iteration. Anyway, glad to be here, and looking forward to discussions with fellow Jeop fans.

Hi, I'm bahhop, I'm a big-time Jeopardy watcher and have been lurking these boards on and off for a while. I'm a college student in Boston, MA. I play along with the show at home whenever I can, sometimes counting my number of correct responses, and sometimes even counting their dollar values. I just discovered that this is apparently well-established thing, the "Coryat," and now am realizing how awesome this board is. I am looking forward to participating in the TD's, and discussing interesting things that happen on the show with people that aren't my mom. :D

Who says we aren't your mom?

And pick up that mess, were you raised in a barn?

Hi! I'm pburns1587 -- and in my ever growing quest to become a Jeopardy! contestant/Learned League member/Pub Trivia specialist, I stumbled on JBoard.

As a New Year's Resolution, I've re-devoted myself to watching every day, and building up the knowledge I need to actually get on the show and do some damage! I have taken the test a few times, averaging about 30 questions right each time -- so plenty of room to improve with the help of all the folks here!

Hi all!

My name is Steve and I have been a lurker on these boards for a bit. I decided to join up after being a contestant on Sports Jeopardy!

I was on Episode 16 of SJ! It was an amazing experience and fulfilled a life-long dream. I had been wanting a sports version of Jeopardy! ever since playing the sports edition of the J! video game that was out for Sega Genesis in the early 90s!

I am excited to be here and to take part in this forum!

Hi everyone! Long-time fan from the Bay Area here. Been trying to be a contestant for over 20 years! Hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer!

Read Steven Ferrill cover-to-cover; then read it backwards; then recite it forwards and backwards. Then review J-Archive for past five years. You will be a giant!

Howdy, all. In case it's not obvious from my handle, I'm Matthew. I'm an attorney in Dallas. I've been on several shows in the past (Win Ben Stein's Money, Whammy!, WWTBAM, Million Second Quiz) and I have been in the "pass by the skin of my teeth" range on the J! test for the past several years, but I've recently decided to get serious and shore up my myriad weaknesses. I appreciate any and all help on my quest to become the second-greatest Mormon J! player of all time.
