Do you think that Arthur Chu is going to change how the game is played?

This is where all of the games are discussed.

You can appear again on TPIR 10 years after your previous appearance. That rule was changed in 2008 IIRC, after Roger Dobkowitz left as producer and Mike Richards was brought in.

Despite my attempt at self-deprecating humour earlier, I"m guessing that something like TPIR (though I'm thinking it might be a bit longer than 10 years) would be put in place - heck, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it isn't already in place, does anyone who have been on the show recently know what the rule is now?
The rule is you can't have previously appeared on the Trebek J!.
That applies to people going through the regular audition process, btw. People can be invited back for special tournaments.

Well, that's how they fill the slots in tournaments of champions. For example, Ken Jennings has had, if I count right, four runs: his initial 75-game winning streak, the UTOC, the IBM Challenge (against Watson the computer), and the current Battle of the Decades.

Frank Spangenberg is the only one who has been in every special tournament. So he has been in seven times.

Did setting up your site on wagering disqualify you from ever possibly being invited back for any specials? Or are you talking about the usual rule of not being able to try out again once you've appeared (which doesn't disqualify you from invites).

As a side-note, since it appears that Trebek will be retiring in the near future, I wonder if there will be a reset on eligibility (or a partial one like on TPiR, where you can re-appear after I believe it's 10 years).
Nah, just the usual. I'm still holding out for the College Reunion tournament.

Again, I am in shock and awe at this influx of new information!! :)

Nor in the Battle of the Bay Area Brains or in the International Tournament.

The 1998 College Championship was taped in Berkeley. A charity match filmed there also aired only in the Bay Area and had Michael Rankins defeating Leslie Frates and Beverly Spurs. OSC was the alternate.

Leslie: 4400-4400=0
Michael: 5100+3701=8801
Beverly: 3400+1800=5200

Michael's total was augmented to $15,000 and perhaps he got half of that? Something like that happened.

The game featured different people coming out to give clues. The J! round had 25 clues and the DJ! round had 20 clues.

Some people have misinterpreted your valiant battle against bigotry as somehow being "rude," aeq. I hope you take solace in the fact that you are clearly making a difference.

Gamelover1949 was the 10/4/78 episode of $20K Pyramid with guests Nancy Lane and MIchael Mckean(celeb J! champion) as guests. One of the contestants is a baldish guy with a mustache named Jerry Harvey, a teacher from California. I wonder if it's the same guy, minus the mustache, who lost to Ken Jennings on J! 26 years later.

Zach of course can never give us a link when he does these posts. I would say it's the same Jerry Harvey.
