1960s Song Title Quiz + NEW: BEATLES EDITION

Post by RandyG »

In the spirit of Paucle's 1980s song title quiz and georgespelvin's 1970s quiz, let's (rock and) roll back to the 1960s. Each clue can be answered with the title of a song that was in the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 of the year. The spoiler space has the recording artist if you need an additional clue. It gets more obscure the farther back you go, so let's start with:

1969

9. Half of a Levi's 501 Original Fit?
Spoiler

10. And so I started my novel that takes place in the 26th century
Spoiler
Zager & Evans
This one goes to 11 too. 8-)

11. D*mn lousy compass! After hiking for what seemed like forever, I found myself back at the same place. I'm hopelessly lost.
Spoiler
The Friends of Distinction

Hey, I was only seven years old...
Close on #9. This song title became a common expression. And you don't need to know anything about 60s music to make a reasoned guess for #11.

I saw the answer to #11 in another post, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have come up with that.
