It may be a very long time before I pick up on this reveal because I have a lot of homework, and I am way behind because I have been procrastinating by doing this reveal.

If you've procrastinated this much, you might as well delay your chores some more and continue with the reveal !!!!

This is a bit off topic (sorry)...but has anyone here ever driven the entire length of Route 66? Or gotten off of the Interstate to drive on a stretch of what used to be Route 66, running parallel to the Interstate? I have done the latter. In 1999, I drove from Ann Arbor, MI to Los Alamos, NM. From about 10 miles east of St. Louis MO to Clines Corners, NM, the interstate highways that I traveled on are ones that replaced the historic Route 66, or had run concurrently with it until 1985. On the way back to Ann Arbor I took a few interludes to get off the Interstate and onto the roadbed of the historical Route 66, just for fun.

There are some people who have traveled coast-to-coast across America without ever driving a single mile on an Interstate highway!!! I'd like to try it some day!

I thought I heard somewhere that it's impossible to drive all of Route 66 now since some of the roads no longer physically exist.

And isn't it also impossible to not touch an Interstate on a coast-to-coast trip? At the very least you may have to go across one, since there are several that run from border to border.

I see the concept of bridges hasn't quite made it to Canada yet.

I have driven on Interstates before (about a half dozen of them) and have seen both bridges and "normal" intersections. But I figured that unless you're going out of your way to be obstinenant (and I'm from the Internet, I know lots of people who do) I figured driving across an interstate occasionally on a cross country trip is unavoidable. (Which reminds me, I wonder how those who keep score of which roads they've driven on count roads they've only crossed?)

Well technically, there are no interstate highways in Canada, so yes it's possible. ;)

You kept using the word 'impossible' (and now 'unavoidable'). I do not think these words mean what you think they mean.

One would always be able to find a little side road that goes below or above an Interstate -- without there being an interchange of any sort. So it would certainly be possible to go from coast to coast without *intersecting* any interstate. But if you count going over or under as "crossing", you are probably right.

Or... go by boat? I hear that there Panama Canal is pretty handy.
Teems with quiet fun.

My understanding is Interstate highways are required to be limited-access – that is, they won't have any surface crossings.

Mostly, yes, but there are several gaps:

Also, I-180 in Cheyenne, Wyoming is sub-interstate its entire length and has some stoplights. I-585 in Spartanburg, South Carolina has a stoplight too. I read that I-70 in Pennsylvania has a stoplight, which seems very strange. I am not sure if they are there anymore, but at some point in the 21st century I-10 in rural West Texas had a few at-grade intersections. State transportation agencies can get a way with a few gaps in Interstate Standards, which include things about lane width, median width, and more.

Yes, on its wrong-way, surface concurrency with US 30. If I remember correctly, when the Interstate system was being built, federal Interstate funding wouldn't pay for any free-to-toll interchanges, so as a result I-70 in Breezewood interchanged the Pennsylvania Turnpike through US 30, I-81 in Carlisle through US 11, etc. As I-70 multiplexed west of Breezewood, it resulted in it needing to use said US 30 interchange to continue.

Now that the status quo has been in place for years, any talk about a new interchange results in tremendous protest from the restaurant, gas station, hotel, etc. owners in Breezewood.

First, I must say that for the last question, Cat Hat answered Nebraska, and Alyssa answered West Virginia

Question 4: Name one of the thirteen states lacking any two-digit interstates with a number ending in “-0”.

Alaska and Hawaii were the gimmes, Alaska was again a singleton, and Vermont was far less popular this time than the last. Alaska and Hawaii were intended to make this question more accesible.
