Congrats Mrs. Boson. Will be watching for your appearance.
Boson, I'm sure your time will come, too.
The change to the tie process is really a bummer imho just because of the interesting-ness of the wagering.

Let me add my yay!s to the crowd for Mrs. boson. I'll be cheering for you as if you were a regular boardie!
And second Robert's comment about how this is good news for your chances, boson! (Maybe if I spread a rumour I'm Ken Jennings' illegitimate son (who is two years older than him), I will get on? )

Would you prefer to change it to "dontgoforthetie" or "goforthetiebreaker"?
Unless you're Jeff Kirby -- then you can keep it.

Maybe it should be "influencer" (or "troublemaker")goforthetie wrote:Does this mean I have to change my username?
And yes, congrats for being selected, and retro good luck (and future good luck, if taping is not yet completed!) to Mrs. B.

Go go go cmp146 a.k.a. Mrs. Boson!! I hope you had an amazing time and it was everything you'd hoped it would be.
Congrats to you on making the show! Looking forward to seeing your episode(s).
Boson, you sound like a wonderfully supportive spouse - enjoy this vicariously, and your turn is now much more likely to come, so that's great!

Thanks all for the support!
Her first show, of an indefinite number, airs Wed. Jan 14th.
GFTT: since contestants now have to be more aggressive in their wagering, how about "GoForTheThroat"?

Silly question -- why isn't Mrs. Boson just known as "Higgs"?

I hope you did well! And as somebody currently in the contestant pool, let me say Hooray, no more ties!cmp146 wrote:Hi. I am Mrs. Boson.
My husband has been fantastic and supporting this whole process. Not a hint of envy, although a bit of a tough coach. Raising two kids witha husband up to his eyeballs in work and my own busy fall with conferences made extra studying hard. But I did make some progress, and did my best.
I surprised myself on a few questions, regret not being a bit better at timing, and had the time of my life. I also am having a major girl crush on Maggie Speak, who was fantastic and gave me a pregame hug. Okay, two hugs before and one after.
I wish he was there, and I will be there for him when we finally get him on.
Unfortunately, my darling husband has not landed a tryout after the last few online tests, despite similar scores to me. Maybe 2015 will be a better year for him.
Was once hugged by Maggie Speak!

Re: Cheering from afar...
I remember in my Jeopardy! themed TD I had all participants "introduced" by handle, occupation, and location (like on the show), I asked for people to provide said info so that I knew it and it could be funny or factual (and if one wasn't provided I'd make one up). I bring this up because of all of them yours was probably my favourite (though I forget if you provided the info or I made it up):goforthetie wrote: Does this mean I have to change my username?

In other words, please don't change your username, I have fond memories associated with it.

I'm touched; I barely remember writing that myself.dhkendall wrote:I remember in my Jeopardy! themed TD I had all participants "introduced" by handle, occupation, and location (like on the show), I asked for people to provide said info so that I knew it and it could be funny or factual (and if one wasn't provided I'd make one up).
