Putting Ring Magazine in the bottom row and making it a DD was simply ridiculous. That may have been the easiest clue in the category. Name a boxing magazine that you've heard of. For 95% of sports fans, that will be the only one. There has been way too much of that on this show, how hard can it be to run the clues by a few sports savvy people to catch massive errors in valuation like that? What are they paying the Schwab for?Fighting Words wrote:This episode unfortunately just confirmed what I already knew, which is that most people aren't boxing fans. No one knew cruiserweight. No one knew that Roy Jones went from middleweight champ to heavyweight titleholder.
At least one dude knew about Ring Magazine. I hope he's a subscriber.

Speak of the devil. Kidd popped up on today's J! game.Ryno wrote:I'm from the East Bay and I remember the attention Kidd received in high school. Apparently he dated actress Gabrielle Union (who is now married to Dwayne Wade) at the time. She went to high school in my hometown.Rackme32 wrote:Funny thing for me during this episode was that while Dan was asking the players for their greatest sports memory, I was thinking of mine. I was lucky enough to see most of Jason Kidd's high-school games in person, some 70 of 'em. By the time he finished his senior year at St. Joseph's in Alameda, CA, I was telling anyone who'd listen that he was a sure thing to end up in the NBA Hall Of Fame, and on the very first year he was eligible. Yesssss.... He was THAT good...
And my very small collection of sports memorabilia is topped by a poster from Jason's senior year of high school titled "Wiz Kidd" which I have framed right here beside my computer.
Then, they had a clue about his Cal days (I saw a few of his games there, too). Interesting coincidence...
