Had "the author of Where the Wild Things Are" for Tuesday, totally blanked on his name. My first thought for Wednesday: "why would a representative from Oklahoma care that Kansas was depicted as having lots of tornadoes in the Wizard of Oz?" Things didn't improve from there. I had nothing for Thursday. I was able to salvage a 2/5 on Friday thanks to years of living and working in Northern Virginia.

Don't recall ever hearing of Oasis. Didn't get Pele but should have, likewise for Sendak.
Strait on Thursday, Antietam on Friday. I'm weak on history, so Friday was a pure guess. I lived in Pennsylvania long enough to know that Gettysburg is too far away; I'm glad I picked someplace plausible, geographically.

I think I first heard of the deity Pele as part of a Tori Amos album title. It would be a while, though, before I actually knew the title (Boys for Pele) didn't refer to the soccer player.

Should have a poll option for people who identified the book "Where the Wild Things Are" but didn't know the author's name.

Glad to see the Bering Sea was accepted, otherwise it would have been my second straight 0/5 week, and this time without any company.
