Close, but not that close (261-196).

Monday: Who is Optimus Prime? Was not happy with it, thinking Transformers started in the '80s (and he might be taller, I don't know), but it was all that came to mind. Spoiled a near-perfect day (53/57 with four clams in the music category).
Tuesday: Who is Elizabeth II?
Wednesday: What is Washington, D.C.? San Juan came to mind first, but considering other options got me to Washington and I decided it was more likely.
Thursday: What is Play-Doh? Also considered Legos, but stuck with my first choice.
Friday: What is the Heimlich Maneuver?

Georgia was a coin flip.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Thank you. I appreciate it.

I first said Georgia then wondered whether it would be Alabama, but I didn't have time to switch. It looks sort of close on the map, and I'm not having any luck Googling the actual lengths of the borders.

Also, thanks to countyguy.

I went with Georgia as well, but I could totally see how Alabama could make sense, especially given that extra border mileage running north-south near Pensacola.

Thank you countyguy for handling the poll. I appreciate you taking on the job and your reward will be the standard of being able to pick one of the extra choices for the 12/8 week. You can post in any daily thread or PM me the one you want before next Saturday evening.

I'm finally back online after my modem conked out on Friday night. I gave my mom a message to post when she was visiting my grandfather and between the two of them they figured out how to log in on my account and do it from his computer.

I feel fortunate I was able to get the Comcast guy out on Sunday afternoon and did not have to wait until later this week to get the problem fixed. Only 42 emails, so not too bad.

Back to reality with the upcoming regular games.

Loved Cerulean's big wager.

Can't say I watch kids week. The kids are normally amazing, but I'd rather be challenged with regular boards. Played these off of reading them on this site daily. Blanked on Big Bird, and came with with Washington after spending maybe 5 or 10 seconds on San Juan. 650,000 just seemed way to big. Surprised San Juan has almost 400,000 people.

To sound like a broken record (but mostly to get the post count necessary to post here normally), that San Juan question tripped me up. For whatever reason, I was certain that DC was incorporated into Virginia.

Ack, was hoping for 5/5. Alas that was shot down on Monday, I know nothing about children's entertainment. I feel like I went 5/5 earlier this season though....

Whatever.
I'm done. Abandon all hope ye who enter here.

I did Monday off Jeff's board post, forgot it was Kids' Week, and Big Bird never crossed my mind.

Loved the DD bet

For the season: 34-26
TOC: 5-5
Kid's Week: 4-1
Longest winning streak: 5 (active 1)
Longest losing streak: 3

5/5: 0
4/5: 2
3/5: 6
2/5: 4
1/5: 0
0/5: 0

On Thursday, I had Mr. Potato Head before the music started, but then my wife blurted out Play-Dough before I could start thinking of something else. I probably would have gotten it, but I'm counting it wrong anyway in the spirit of To Tell the Truth. Too bad, because it cost me my first eve 8/8 week, though it was just Kid's Week.

I got the coin flip right on Washington D.C..

Breakdown of board scores on FJs for the 12/1/14 week

Post by OrangeSAM »

After 122 respondents:

 40 got all 5 FJ!s
;) 60 got 4 FJ!s
:) 20 got 3 FJ!s
:( 2 got 2 FJ!s
 0 got 1 FJ!
 0 got 0 FJ!s

Average: 4.13 FJ!s correct.

My responses went:   :(  /

Wed: San Juan. I didn't think you could fit that population in the area of DC without high rises.
