Congratulations TerrHeel! I was rooting for you at the end there, not even knowing you were a Boardie, just because it would have been painful to see you lose that big lead and end up losing the game.
Question about the taping day: Do they give you another questionnaire or pre-game interview on taping day to find out what you have that may make a good interview story? Just in case I ever get called, I've rememebered a couple of better stories than I put on my tryout application, and just wondering whether, if I were called, would I have an opportunity to use those instead of the lesser ones that I thought of when I filled out the original application.

TERRHEEL!!!
What an epic way to win! Congrats dude... but I hope you haven't used up Sports Jeopardy's quota of Tar Heel fans from Raleigh.
12/10: 8,500 (FJ: )
By far the easiest FJ they've had yet... wow.

I'll be rooting for you to make it, heelsrule, and you too, Mr. Kid. I agree that the Final Jeopardy was easy, especially with them narrowing it down to the '90s. I think I've gotten all but one or two of the Final Jeopardy questions so far, but this one was an instaget. Where in Raleigh are you, heelsrule? I'm off Leesville Rd. We should get together to watch a game sometime.
Mr. Kid, if I remember right, they gave us printouts with our answers to the questionnaires we had already filled out, but then we went over them and chose what we would like to talk about. That was while we were still in the green room. I chose my World Series of Poker story, and my sports room at my house. Right when I sat down with Kelly for the pre-game interview, she had a little cheat sheet with the info on it, and she asked which one of those I'd rather talk about. She figured Dan would ask me about my sports room, so she asked me about my poker playing. As it turned out, Dan didn't mention the sports room, but it all worked out pretty great in the end, I think.
SpinyNorman, we haven't settled on a name yet, but we definitely want something fairly unique. Honus fits the bill, but we'll see! How did you enjoy the show being in the audience? I agree on the Dara Torres thing- I don't remember seeing any letters, but I could have just overlooked it.

Re: Sports Jeopardy episode 12 (12-10-14)
Terrence, like several others I am in the contestant pool hoping for a call. I live in the LA area and wanted to see how Sports J played, especially compared to regular J. At times it can be excruciating in the audience when you want to talk to your neighbor about a question or yell out an answer like you do at home. I did try to practice buzzing in as I saw the lights flash. The guy next to me may have thought I was nuts as a I flogged my simulated signaling device.
I know that contestants get to practice at the podium before they play. But did you feel warmed up and ready from question 1? Or did it take you a while to get comfortable with the question/lights/buzzer rhythm of the game?

I felt really good from the get-go. I actually thought that the buzzer would be a big edge for me going in. I have quick reflexes (probably from years of playing video games), and was really focused on being quick on the draw. When I knew the answer I almost always beat them to it. The practice session was helpful, but because I felt good going in I almost would have rather not had it since it would have made everyone else comfortable too.

Wow... very close to my neck of the woods! I'm in Brier Creek. I go to the Ale House here for every Panthers game... we could catch a Panthers/Heels game there!TerrHeel wrote:Where in Raleigh are you, heelsrule? I'm off Leesville Rd. We should get together to watch a game sometime.

Get Gary Bettman on the clue crew immediately. Guy's electric.

Small world- we got our house a little over a year ago, before that we were in an apartment in Brier Creek. I used to watch all the games at Wild Wing, right across the parking lot from the Ale House. We should definitely meet up to see a game sometime. I'm about to sign off here to watch us play Kentucky!Wow... very close to my neck of the woods! I'm in Brier Creek. The correct response on that one was Who is J.C. Watts?amorris525 wrote:Why wouldn't they show these? It's an online show! There is no time constraint. I would have enjoyed seeing them.Spiny Norman wrote:Take your monitor or laptop and put it on the other side of the room. Then try to read the words on her swim cap. That is about as large as the screen appears to the contestants in the studio.legendneverdies wrote:Triple stumper of the day: not IDing Dara TOrres from a picture of her in the pool in which you can see most of the word Torres on her headwear.
I watched this episode in the audience. They had to go through 2 tie-breakers which neither contestant answered correctly before deciding a winner on Q3. I can only remember one. Something like, "This Oklahoma QB was a 2 time MVP in the Orange Bowl in the 1980s before moving into politics." Since I am Sooner born and Sooner bred, it took some self-restraint not to scream the answer.
I liked the Ricky Williams clue. Clever.
