Me too. My recurring nightmare is that I'll get on some other show, automatically answer with 'What is...' , and get pilloried for it.

Just for the heck of it, I tried watching J! this evening without responding out loud. Oddly, I found it more difficult to remain focused on the material at all times. And knowing the correct responses to triple-stumpers was all the more frustrating as a silent viewer. I won't be doing that again.

I abide by the advice offered in Bob Harris's "Prisoner of Trebekistan" to practice in as realistic a set of conditions as possible, which in my case means using a makeshift signaling device and answering in the form of a question. It's so much second nature now that I find myself doing it in other quizzing situations sometimes.
