Sports Jeopardy Episode 18 1-21-2015 (Spoilers)

Post by Bamaman »

I liked seeing a player with a big lead hunt for the DD to keep it away from the other players.

I'll save everyone time looking him up, he owns Johnny Rockets. (I had to look it up, not something I just knew).

In the postgame chat, John said he bet zero on FJ since he couldn't make the leader board. Of the games we have seen so far, a score of 28,000 puts him in second place. I wonder when in the lineup this game was taped?

Instaget FJ for me, I had heard that bit about Grant before, but I don't know if I could have gotten it without the Minnesota hint. I'm guessing Mark got this one quickly as well and it made me feel old when Jordan said Leslie Frazier was the only Vikings coach he could think of.

I was watching the game on my phone while running on the treadmill, so I didn't notice the score clock today. Can someone share what it was?

The scoreboard was an easy one with: 4 - 15 - 19 - 47
Did we ever get an answer for last week with 11 - 21 - 19 - 85?

I realize hockey is not going to be the best sports for these players, but Joe Thornton's other team besides the Bruins? Home ice advantage for me, since I've seen him play live, but I thought that was a gimme like so many of the DDs tend to be.

I'm glad the baseball DD did not ask for both players as I only had Nomo. Mondesi is a guy that may have taken me hours to recall.

Thank you for explaining why John looked familiar. Johnny Rockets rang the bell. Undercover Boss, of course! He's old enough that he should have known the USO stumper and of course younger players could know it as well.

As Dan finished up the interview with Jordan the light indicating who would pick first was lit up brightly easy to see.

Yes, that was the kind of dream FJ! clue perfect for me. At least John got it so that I would not need both a new TV and PS3. :)

I think todays scoreboard clue must have been Jackie Robinsons major league debut.
Last weeks could have been Doug Flutie's "Hail Mary" for Boston College vs. Miami.

The Flutie game was played November 23, 1984.

Usually they reveal these on the Sports Jeopardy Facebook page, but this one I haven't seen on there. I Google searched for quite a while trying to find any significance to 11 21 19 85. My best guess is that somebody messed up, and it should've been 10 21 19 85, because on October 21, 1985:
Spoiler
Refrigerator Perry scored his first touchdown on Monday Night Football.

This episode was taped the same day mine was (August 24). I remember each of the contestants from our rehearsals and preshow prep. I did have to leave the studio before this show was actually taped, so I didn't know the outcome until watching it yesterday.

Anyway, we were given the top three scores on the leaderboard as of the day of our taping. I don't remember exactly what the scores were, however.

Though not a Lakers fan, yesterday was Jack Nicklaus' 75th birthday.

This year, most all days are not Lakers fans, it seems.

Was 11/21/85 the day Michael Jordan broke his foot? If so, that's an awfully obscure reference, even for this show.
