Sports Jeopardy! EP. 24 (3-4-15) [Spoilers]
The scoreboard puzzle was:
34 - 07
03 - 00
Perhaps March 4, 2007 or 1907 and a 3-0 score?
**********
Dan sure has his own hosting style. Oh, Adam was in the service? Drop and give me 20.
Luke got a good laugh saying he has no accent in Mobile. The hundreds (is it optimistic to say thousands?) of viewers who watch must have been saying Faulk multiple times to save Luke the 5000 lost on his first DD wager.
Luke got a another laugh as it looked painful for him to name Auburn's Bo Jackson.
In the area of lies, damn lies and statistics part of Luke's story was having a perfect season at the free throw line for his high school's basketball team. 2/2 does = 100%
Anyone watching in Pittsburgh added an adjective or middle name to the Sid Bream DD?
Sports J! like regular J! can have gimmes for $2000. Seeing a guy on the famous clay and asked to give French Open was a buzzer test.
Nice job by Sung to guess a horse, any horse on the last clue of the DJ! round down 6500 to 13,750 even if Whirlaway for Mine That Bird was more than a few years off.
NBA Milestones was going to be guess time for me. 31 points and 31 rebounds 28 years prior to Kevin Love doing it in 2010? Okay, I can do the math to get to the year 1982. For the player I failed to recall a famous rebounder and wrote Barkley to have a name since I figured he played before Rodman who had already been a correct response.
Nice sole solve by Adam to get the small redemption of 2nd place in a runaway game.
34 - 07

This one is really reaching, but on April 3, 2007 (which could be 3/4/07), the Columbus Blue Jackets were shutout 3-0, setting the record for the most shutouts in a season.MarkBarrett wrote:The scoreboard puzzle was:

I am stumped on the scoreboard as well.econgator wrote:This one is really reaching, but on April 3, 2007 (which could be 3/4/07), the Columbus Blue Jackets were shutout 3-0, setting the record for the most shutouts in a season.MarkBarrett wrote:The scoreboard puzzle was:

Surprised that Marshall Faulk was a DD stumper, but anyone can have a brain lock.
Didn't get FJ, didn't remember Malone having that stat line. Bitter irony is that I just used a picture of him in my TD 2 weeks ago! I was thinking maybe Bird had a spectacular rebounding night.
Sheepin' it real.

I'll go out on a limb and say Luke bleeds crimson and white and not orange and blue, which made him easy to root for. If FJ had been Barkley, he might have just refused to write it down.
I was curious as to he announced for so I googled him and it turns out he is also an attorney.
I got Moses as a guess and was stumped on the scoreboard.
Great moments in L.A. Kings history? One clue asked you to name another team's player? Then you had to name a baseball stadium. Then a clue about one of their stars showed him wearing a Red Wings jersey.

Also sort of a reach regarding the scoreboard puzzle, the Baltimore Ravens won Super Bowl XXXV 34-7, and there was a stretch of 3 consecutive TD plays, all of them non-offensive. An interception return for TD, then a kickoff return for TD, followed by another kickoff return for TD.
I remember because I was there, cool stuff.
Also considered stuff like a MLB pitcher with 300 wins and 3407 K's but no dice. Or what about 3407 PBA sanctioned perfect 300 games?

That was a fun episode. Luke mostly ran circles around everyone, so I was really shocked he didn't come up with Marshall Faulk as the Greatest Show on Turf running back. That would have put him in prime position to make a run at the leaderboard. Still, good on him to overcome it and continue to dominate from there on out. I got Moses Malone in large part because I read Bill Simmons' Book of Basketball right before my taping, so that one was a quick get. Personally, I'd hate to do 20 push-ups and then have to perform up there on stage. Feel like I'd be a little worn out!

Sorry to resurrect the thread.
#34 Nolan Ryan's seventh no-hitter was a 3-0 win over the Blue Jays (on May 1, 1991).
