Sports Jeopardy! EP. 27 (3-25-15) [Spoilers]

Post by MarkBarrett »

The scoreboard puzzle is 19 99, 05 04

If you need a hint:
Spoiler
Women can play sports too.
It's hard to believe it's coming up on 16 years later.

**********
Good thing for Robert he took the lock 5K and did not try to make the finals. He knew it was not his category and did the smart thing.

For the FJ! clue I made it a Marktiple Choice with:
Unser
Petty
Andretti

The 33% did not work out as I matched one of the players with Unser.

Had a giggle when I heard someone in the crowd gasp and groan when the champ revealed his 0 wager. I guess to some people that bet would have been unforeseeable.

You need to get rid of the s at the end of your spoiler quote or else you will truly be spoiling.

Thanks for the hint, BTW. I was lost but now we are even from me directing you to the undefeated Dolphins Super Bowl scoreboard a few weeks ago.

Yep. He had a lock and wisely chose to bank the $5,000. I'm not a huge auto racing fan, but my theory is the less mainstream the sport, the easier the FJ will be.

I did the same with Andretti and Unser and considered Foyt. The Pettys are a NASCAR family. Luckily I went with Andretti. I have never heard of the other family.

I knew the musical the Red Sox owner produced, though I've heard that story isn't 100% true.

Gee, and it's not like I don't have any practice with the spoilers each week doing the poll. Fixed, thanks.

Good get on the FJ! clue.

I wrote Petty for having multiple family members, but did realize not to guess them because of NASCAR while not bothering to write Earnhardt for the same reason. I thought of A.J. Foyt as a famous Indy winner, but knew nothing about the family tree to add it to the guess list.

Definitely a smart move to bet 0 when he knew it wasn't his category. I came up with Andretti and felt pretty good about it, and when the first guy answered Unser I said, "Oh yeah, that has to be the other one." Was really surprised that was wrong. I liked the range of categories here- we had a boxing category, an all-Philly category, an all-Tony category. Definitely some fun stuff. I'm just now realizing also that the first season is more than halfway over. I'll bet we'll start to see some more aggressive play in the weeks to come.

I did the same thought process on FJ -- Unser or Andretti? Heck, they are probably both correct but I'll go with Andretti. :)

I fell right into the Unser trap.

You gotta at least make a guess on that Red Sox 50 HR DD, Trevor! Seems that Ortiz is the "I can't think of anybody else" guess that even a non-Red Sox fan (like me) would throw out there.

I have very little knowledge of continuous left-turn driving, but I live in redneck country so I'll guess
Spoiler
Earnhardt (1st choice) and Andretti

Andretti seemed super easy for a clue like that.

For Indy racing, it's pretty much going to be Andretti or Rahal.
