Sports Jeopardy! EP. 28 (4-1-15) [Spoilers]
The scoreboard puzzle was another easy one: 19, 85 - 66, 64
Hope Bills former kicker was watching as it must be comforting to know his name may not be as well remembered in 2015. Steven made that DD miss not matter as he later went big getting Hondo for $10240 on the last DD.
FJ! Category: TROPHIES
Clue*: Marian, Denise & Lisa Ilitch were three of the first 12 women to have their names on this trophy
*Copied from Game Show Kingdom, so I cannot guarantee exact wording
Kerry: 7500+7000=14500
Lorenzo: 13500+1501=15001
Steven: 20987-19015=1972
Too bad for Steven the attempt to work his way into position for the finals did not work out on the FJ! clue miss (U.S. Tennis).
Watching on my PS3 I did not have all of the usual commercial breaks. I don't know if it was a fluke, tech error, lack of sponsors, other? Saved time whatever it was.

Re: Sports Jeopardy! EP. 28 (4-1-15) [Spoilers]
Today is the 30th anniversary of the scoreboard game.
I'm sure Golf is applauding Steven's boldness in his wagering, too bad it didn't work out for him.
Thy include the Kick 6 and the 1991 World Series Game 7 in the same category? The clue writers hated me today.
I missed FJ. I've heard of the Red Wings' owner, but the name did not come to me in time.

Had zero clue on the FJ!... never heard that name in my life. My logic was: "pick a sport you pay zero attention to and name that sport's trophy."
I picked the OTHER sport I pay zero attention to and guessed

Ironically, I got two responses correct in the International Soccer category.

Incidentally, the Tennessee basketball coach mentioned in the clue got fired last week.

I'm afraid I have to call that a choke. What other major trophy do they write names on?

Being a Detroit sports fan helped immensely on this week's FJ. Were I lacking the Pavlov reaction to "Ilitch", I'm not sure I would have had the conviction to guess the only trophy I know has names on it.
And my trivia teammate Lukas (whom I finally saw last night for the first time since his 2/25 episode aired) stays in 2nd place for at least one more week.

The Claret Jug is another one. TV will often show the engraver working on it as the tournament ends. Not sure, maybe the US Open (golf) trophy and/or Wanamaker (PGA) trophy, too? But obviously, none of those would have women's names on them.econgator wrote:The F1 World Championship trophy.....amorris525 wrote:What other major trophy do they write names on?
I recognized Ilitch (Tom, right?) as the Red Wings owner name, so figured it had to be the Stanley Cup. How many people get to put their name on that thing, anyway?
Lach Trash: New York Islanders
This was probably my best game of SJ thus far. Coryat 36,000 plus FJ. I got Norwood and Boggs, but blanked on Havlicek. Might have been able to get there eventually, but not sure. First went to Parish, but knew he was still playing in the 80's, then Steven said Havlicek before I had time to think any longer.
Sheepin' it real.
