Soooooo glad she lost.
I had no idea who she was, though I may have seen a few minutes of The Goldbergs. But her little thumb pressing thing turned me off of her right from the start. not as bad as Kevin's kissy face yesterday, but still annoying.

Coryat: $46,800
52 R/0 W
DD: 3/3
FJ: Instaget
LT: fertilizer, Sharif, true love, snowmobile, Norwegian

Super-awesome game for me. My only non-gets on the night were Gary David Goldberg (I could have gotten it as a multiple choice, but no way could I pull it out of the ether) and the Roman Empire (a gimme, in retrospect). Would that I could rock real J! like that.
Bamaman wrote:My first thought on FJ was James Cameron but thought he might have been a red herring. Was there some other director who made a movie about the bottom of the ocean? The Titanic is not at the deepest part, so that really wasn't relevant to him. I considered Speilberg, but eventually stayed with Cameron.
Titanic is certainly the TOM, but it was a fairly big pop culture news story when he decided to visit Challenger Deep. You can apparently learn a lot about it here.
Sprinkles are for winners.

Woppy T wrote:What was Mo complaining about during the interview segment? Something about our elections being too complicated? I hate the fact that we're subjected to nearly perpetual campaign seasons, but I don't think that was his gripe.

Mo said there are 13,000 different voting districts (John ad-libbed, "Name 'em.") and that the individual is not guaranteed the right to vote in the Constitution.

Having watched John Berman on this quiz appearance I knew he would be sharper than the average celeb player:

Stuff I have posted previously on this board
Spoiler

Mo Rocca has a history of finishing second in celeb appearances: http://www.kabrina.com/wbsm/3075.html
Wendi was outmatched in a game with both guys knowing what they were doing. It was good to see she was not like her TV character and was in more control than when she hosts (or hosted as the case may be) Repeat After Me.

ETA after having seen Volante's comments: Scott Foley was great in his segment when he was on it.

The celebs were 3/3 on the FJ! clue. That would be the worst kind of clue to miss at home, so I'm glad I knew it had to be Cameron as well.

Fiiiiiiiire....
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

I recognize Wendi from Reno 911.

I'm guessing that (1) they might have considered accepting David Goldberg if Goldberg had not been in the category name, and (2) they would have accepted Gary Goldberg.

Got FJ but it was a complete guess.

I understand that even well played celeb games have trouble clearing the board due to longer introductions and interviews, but I hate a game when a category isn't even touched.

Nailed FJ. Cameron is just a handful of people to go to the lowest point in the ocean.

I was on the Pride of America in 2010. I believe it is the only US flagged cruise ship, since it only goes around the Hawaiian islands.

Mo Rocca appears frequently on NPR's fabulous Wait, Wait ... Don't Tell Me!--a show anyone trying to get on Jeopardy! should listen to. It provides a decent review of the week's news and some games that can help hone your skills. Besides, it's hilarious and hosted by a former Jeopardy! contestant. For anyone who's ever lost a game of Jeopardy! there should be some consolation in the fact that someone as smart and funny as Peter Sagal did as well.

Mo's show My Grandmother's Ravioli is very funny, on the Cooking Channel. Yes, and have always loved listening to Mo on NPR's WWDTM.

If it makes you feel better, we've had a handful of REGULAR games that left a whole category on the board. One of them was that one game where no one even rang in for the entire Broadway Lyrics category.
