The important thing on "gerrymander" is that you pronounce it with a hard g, like "Gary". This will drive Alex nuts.

A new musical called Amazing Grace starts on Broadway next month. It's about the creation of the hymn.goatman wrote: No get on FJ for goats. Wondered at 'Amazing Grace' thinking could that be a musical? And even America the Beautiful, I NHO any musical so named though.

So did Michael get the $2,000 because he was in the lead at the end of the Jeopardy round? Amy and Michael were tied at the end of DJ. Is that how the line of succession goes? And how far back does it go?

Being a big fan of '80s hair rock probably helped with FJ! Not as good as Choyon's, but my wife's joke response was Wicked.
I too negged on both GULAG and ion.

I had no chance on it myself.
Disappointed no one went for the "I'll take swords for x hundred." It was right there!
Also sad no one got Otto Pilot, tho Trebek's delivery made up for it.
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

Alex had me thinking he was not familiar with Tiburon as "Tib-u-Ron" sounded strange to my ears used to hearing "Tibber-Ron.
Choyon, can you share one of your cat clothes pictures or direct us to a place to see one?
I did not know if the players would get the "stagger" clue or not, but I was positive it not be because of the "Lee" hint.
One more neg on gulag here, so I guess that will make a good poll choice.
14000 going into the FJ! round is not a great score although it sure looks a lot better with both opponents at 6600. Congrats on the runaway.
The FJ! category of course gave no hint to brainstorm things Jewish or Broadway. For a short brainstorm list I had "Amazing Grace", Julia Ward Howe and Gilead.
When I saw the clue I knew there was no way to make "Book of Mormon" work this time. I felt a Christian hymn or Tony-nominated musical could be anything. That left me trying to run Jewish holidays. Nothing sounded like any musical I had heard of so with time out I wrote the easiest thing of "Purim."
Rock of Ages makes sense for two parts of the clue even without knowing the Jewish portion. In 30 seconds there was no way the work would have come to me to put it together.
Any time J! asks for a fairly modern Broadway musical we already know to consider:
Wicked
The Book of Mormon
Jersey Boys
now Rock of Ages will be added as well.

LT: stagger, Delilah, New York, algae.
Nowhere near on FJ; the only hymn I could think of was "Come Thou Fount," then I remembered the full lyrics and knew it wouldn't fit.
This board had some relatively strong areas for me. I would've done pretty well, except for one thing--an awesome champ. Congrats, Choyon! Really enjoying your run! (Now post some costumed cat pictures!)

Re: Monday, May 25, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]
Being a Christian and a Def Leppard fan really helped here. (I don't care what anyone says, I say the Broadway show was named after the Def Leppard song and Joe Elliot and co. should have got credit in this clue.) Not Jewish, don't think I could name one Jewish hymn, but the term seems old enough to predate Christianity and thus be a reasonable term the Jewish people would have for Yahweh, so in it went. Even if it's wrong, Def Leppard, so ...

We were told in the green room that in case of a tie at the end of the game for the runner-up money, it was (a) whoever was ahead at the start of DJ or (b) in case of a tie then, whoever was ahead at the commercial break in the middle of regular J! (just before the interviews). Not sure what happens if that's tied.

They should just make it whoever was ahead last and leave it at that. Or whoever was ahead first. That would work equally well.Spaceman Spiff wrote:As far as necessary.kprather895 wrote:So did Michael get the $2,000 because he was in the lead at the end of the Jeopardy round? What bugs me about clues like this the unnecessary second TOM. "'Thank You For Being A Friend' was the theme song of this sitcom" is probably already too easy for the bottom of the board, but then you have to tell us that the show starred Bea Arthur? Come on.Onairb wrote:Perhaps they were gearing for a 'You're too young to remember' spiel from Alex, but at least someone was old enough to remember!StevenH wrote: Golden Girls had no business at the bottom of the board.
