"What's up with that" is called the luck of the draw. After we all take the online quiz, the non-passers are of course immediately eliminated. Passers are put into pools corresponding to their preferred audition cities (I chose Lexington for my audition city this year, so when I passed I went into that pool).bomtr wrote:

But.....(big but).....they just aren't going to audition everyone who passes, and it seems each year they have too many passers for the slots available in most or all cities. So they choose some and not others. Whether the choosing is random, or by score, or whether they pass over people who have auditioned before and not been chosen, only they know.
FWIW I passed the online quiz the first year it was offered (2006) and got an invite to a live audition (obviously, no Call). I also passed the quiz in 2009 and 2011 but did not get invited.
Of course I plan to be back taking the quiz in a couple of months. There's a fine line between perseverance and perseveration. I figure I'll keep trying until they choose me, or they tell me to please stop bothering them, or until I just can't pass the quiz any more.
Better luck to us both in 2012.
