TD 282 - John, I'm Only Quizzing - FINAL STANDINGS!

Post by Armandillo »

John I’m Only Quizzing

To honor the recently deceased legendary singer David Bowie, here’s a TD! **IT IS NOT ONLY QUESTIONS ABOUT DAVID BOWIE**
The normal rules apply:
*Choose the correct answer that matches the least number of other people
*If you’re unsure of an answer, you get 2 different options! Simply type either SHEEP or DROP in, instead of an answer.
-You can use the SHEEP option, which gives you points equal to the most popular answer
OR
-You can DROP one question. **If you choose to NOT use your drop, I will generously remove 5 points off your score at the end**
*If you get a question wrong, you pay the penalty of 5 points PLUS the sheep score.
*Please do NOT use anyone else’s brain (this includes the Internet’s).
*I will be more generous than usual with respect to spelling. If an issue arises, I will PM you for clarification.
**REMEMBER TO INCLUDE THE LETTER, WHEN THERE IS A LIST OF CHOICES**
Here we go! David, this one’s for you!

1. Space Oddity – Space is exciting, even more so when something goes horribly wrong! Identify which movie one of the following groups of characters comes from! (Year of film’s release) (Include the letter)

2. Little China Girl – Chinese, well Mandarin, is the most spoken language in the world in terms of people who speak it. Name any of the next 10 most spoken languages. (figures are from Wikipedia and accurate as of 2010). HINT: Indian is not considered a language, but there are a few answers associated with it listed. (10 answers)

3. Oh! You Pretty Things – Identify a female supermodel who appears on Celebrity Net Worth’s list of the 10 richest. They use net worth, not yearly salary. *I can say with certainty, every name on the list is well-known. Just name a famous supermodel and you will likely be right.* (10 answers)

To know that this flame will spread this way across the door and up across the ceiling, not because of the physics of flammable liquids, but because it wants to. Some guys on this job, the fire owns them, makes 'em fight it on it's level, but the only way to truly kill it is to love it a little. Just like Ronald.”
i. “You know what, Anderson? You're starting to get so far up my nose, I'm beginning to feel your boots on my chin!”

Yes, I reworded the question to avoid any possible confusion. Give me who performed the song/popularized the dance.

Question 7 has also had some rewording for clarification.

If someone on the list has been more than one hero, they will be counted as distinct/separate answers.

My apologies for the confusion. I added in the deadline in response to econgator's post.

As always, I am not strict about them. As long as entries are in before I start the reveal, they will be accepted :D

Leery at first about "DAVID BOWIE TRIBUTE" b/c super-focus quizzes go too far into weeds, what I know about David could fit on my pinky fingernail in 12pt Sans Serif!

Thanks for keepin' it real! Note to self: In future make TD titles broad and vague so peeps don't get skeerd off! ;)

Quiz was updated, with a minor change. Didn't realize I named two questions the same song. D'oh! The change does NOT affect the scoring or anything important other than making me look less foolish :D

(12's title was changed to This is Not America)
