I was fairly confident of my singleton here.

I won't be laughing for long though, as I missed with my guess for the next question.

I dedicate that drop to being completely lazy and thinking I couldn't do better than David Blaine. I'll never doubt the collective creativity of JBoard again.

He was a member of the Magic Castle, as he was an accomplished amateur magician, in addition to playing one on TV.

In that vein, I'm surprised no one went with Neil Patrick Harris.

How about Fruit Pie the Magician? (You know, the Hostess Pie technician.)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiPeDyVbLGw

But seriously folks, Cardini is very worth watching, even today. His stage persona was an upper-crust British fellow who was constantly being baffled, sometimes even startled, by his own magic. Beyond just looking effortless (as if that weren't hard enough), he made it look accidental. Here's a vintage video of one of his performances:

I picked someone I've seen on Masters of Illusion purposely avoiding someone like Mat Franco from America's Got Talent and I ran into a very unexpected doubleton.
I was going to pick Mat Franco. But noooooo.

I was wondering if any old-timers would pick this one, too. Mark Wilson was the star of The Magic Land of Allakazam, which put magic on the TV map in the early 1960s.

I interviewed him for a story on Letterman's favorite magician; nice guy, and I believe I still have a standing invitation to the Magic Castle. ;)

As mentioned, he was originally an amateur magician and was cast in the TV show "The Magician".

It was a one-season show that I loved watching. He drove a car with the license plate "SPIRIT" and used magic to solve crimes. The intro to the show had a voice over saying: "All the magic you are about to see is performed without any trick photography of any kind by Bill Bixby, The Magician".

FWIW, Mark Wilson was a consultant to the show.

I would say that he thus could definitely be considered both famous and a magician.

Oh my, looks like rain. I think we're probably going to have to call the game at this point and declare whoever is in the lead the winner.

Not a bad strategy. I invoked that one on TD 281 and no one objected. But then, we might have to schedule future TDs for indoor stadiums to guard against weather related cancellations.

If I had the source data, I could likely do a reveal and then score TD 281. Maybe I'll even research all the possible answers to give at least some cloture to that TD.

Well you did say OTHER.

Why couldn't TMBG have mentioned that Martin Van Buren and James Buchanan had both been senators in James K. Polk? For the first time, that song has let me down.

We've done this at least once before, where everyone sent their remaining answers to someone who finished the reveal.

I'm not surprised Lumosityfan dropped the ball in TD 281, he has a history of not finishing TDs. That's probably one of the reasons his TDs usually get less participants than most others. I'm more surprised TD 276 was left unfinished by caknuck.
