Forgot the category on the first bonus clue and said nail polish; no guess on either of the others.
I'm not entirely sure I'm seen an episode of M*A*S*H, but I've certainly seen bits and pieces (I remember it being on AFN after the after-school kids' show block) and I probably did watch an entire episode. The credits were certainly memorably enough to make the clue an instaget. Have not seen the movie.
Haven't seen 12 Years a Slave and didn't know there was a book or that it was nonfiction until Thursday's clue.
I considered Sullenberger, but he didn't seem right; focusing on "getting out" led me straight to Armstrong.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

Sullenberger Friday.

Said nail polish instead of manicure, not paying attention to the category.
Clammed on the Flashdance clue.
Automatically said Pesky.

Have seen many episodes of MASH. Saw 12 Years A Slave, knew it was adapted from a memoir.

Last week, I mentioned that I got exactly 4 of 5 FJs correct for the 8th straight week.

This week, I got Monday's through Thursday's all correct.

I didn't watch Friday's episode when it aired. (I was at the Weird Al Yankovic concert in Miami.) I happened to see Friday's FJ clue on the internet this morning, before coffee.

I thought about it for about four or five seconds. Famous Americans... greatest accomplishment... pilots... landing... Those words took me straight to Charles Lindbergh. An iconic figure and definitely a "famous American", right?

I even thought briefly about people like Alan Shepard and John Glenn, but the words "greatest accomplishment" took me back to Lindbergh.

It's possible that if I had given myself the full 30 seconds, I would have gotten there, but I can't claim credit for it. When I saw the correct response, I thought "Of course!"

I agree that even though certain key words suggest Charles Lindbergh, there's something "off" about him as a response to this clue. Why the mention of getting out of the vehicle? (I guess I thought it was possible that the moment Lindbergh exited his airplane was a moment that people noticed, whereas the difficult part is landing the plane. But something still feels "off" about Lindbergh as a response.)

Sullenberger on Friday, which cost me a chance at my first perfect FJ week in a long time.

I have never seen the film 12 Years a Slave, nor knew that it was based on a mid-19th century book; but I sussed out that one from the clue.

Curses on catchers!
First 5/5 in a long time... :)
Only problem with any of these FJs was my concern that I had the wrong no. for 12 Years...I think I missed that the last time it was a clue, but not this time...

Easy week, I think. After IC was begged, I knew it was Moroder but too late.

Cara for Moroder.
Pesky for Fisk. More precisely, think of Pesky, ring in, realize it's not Pesky, scramble to think of Fisk, run out of time.

My first 5/5 ever!!!

Would have been nice if one of them was polling under 50%, but hey.

Have seen all of MASH (movie and series) but not After Mash.
Have not seen or read 12 Years a Slave (#180 on my Netflix queue, so...maybe late 2017 I'll get to it?)
Almost negged Fri with Lindbergh
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.
Latest movies (1-10): WIthnail & I (7), An Autumn Afternoon (7), Europa Europa (7), Tampopo (9)

Would have had Carlton Fisk if I weren't tired. Have not seen or read "12 Years a Slave". Have seen M*A*S*H. Started with Sullenberger but made it to Armstrong.
