Looking at the roster of past games, there were 46 weeks this past season. Six of those weeks were tournaments (2 weeks each TOC, teachers', college), and a week of power players. So if I calculate correctly, there were 39 weeks of regular play, 195 episodes, meaning 390 contestants?

If a contestant had been invited back due to a faulty game then it would mean one less new player - but as said Claudia returned later because she had scheduling issues, so the net number of new contestants was unaffected from that (now the triple-zero did open another spot).
