Using the brake and accelerator in Dover counts for "set foot" in my book. And for some wiseguy who wants to come back with a special hand-operated vehicle then "set foot" on the floor board counts as well.

For any of the poll choices each week answer as best as you see fit and it does not really matter about how I might have exactly been thinking a choice applies.

As I learned it: “Alice Algae and Freddy Fungus took a 'lichen' to each other and now their marriage is on the rocks (they often grow there) because she’s driving him up a tree (found there too).”
Thanks, I like that one and it's new to me.

The TOM for that one was pretty straightforward: The towns sound Russian, especially Lubyanka, which is the name of a famous building in Moscow that housed the Soviet secret police headquarters for many, many years. Three decades gets you to 1986. And an event is called out in the clue; the Chernobyl disaster is probably the biggest event of 1986 - I'd go so far as to say that Chernobyl is Pavlov for "event in 1986". So it doesn't take very long to come up with Chernobyl and feel confident about it.
That was pretty much my thought process to a T: the cities sound Russian/Slavic & knowing Chernobyl happened in the mid-1980s.

Also surprises me that so many people knew Delaware was the first state, but only about 54% got Dover. Had I been armed with that factoid, I likely would've gotten it right, as my guess of Trenton was just based on it being somewhere near Philadelphia.

One could add any number of '86 events to nitpick, but the big one that prevents Chernobyl from being a no-brainer 1986 Pavlov: the Challenger disaster. Though I feel like they haven't asked for that yet this season. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up with the highest get rate of the season (I think either Mandela or Brexit hit 96%).

I got Chernobyl correct without even knowing exactly what year it took place.

Yeah, but you know the show assumes everything is happening is if it's really the air date.

Dead/death on Tuesday. Trenton on Wednesday, followed by a facepalm, since I know Delaware is the First State. Dali on Thursday. J! pre-empted on Friday.
