Missed the button but there was a lot going on with that collar. Noticed the enormous spectacles, though.

Friday was the only FJ I got. Glad to see Exodus as Monday's guess as an option here, because I think that's what I went with then.

For some reason, I went with Lewis Carroll for Tuesday. Not a proud moment.

The Whigs are familiar to me, but I couldn't remember them on Wednesday.

As I explained in the Thursday game thread, I keep remembering Rio de Janeiro as the capital of Brazil, which I now know is wrong, and I couldn't think of anything else that sounded right, so I went with nothing.

Of the three extra clues, I guessed Detroit for the first one and only got the public speaking one right.

Finally, 8/8! If only I were still a college student and not a community college professor/high school teacher who looks like a college/high school student.

Numbers occurred to me on Monday but my Bible knowledge is so meagre that I still went with Exodus.

After several hit-or-miss weeks, a college tournament to boost my confidence is very welcome.
Got Michigan and Michigan St. confused and said East Lansing.
I considered Exodus but then decided Numbers was more likely.
Did not notice the NOXIN pin.
And I'm not a member of LL.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

I noticed it and figured out what it was while previewing the contestants ahead of time, on the J! website tournament page.

I thought "...sum of all the congregation..." was a dead giveaway for the book of Numbers. And I'm an atheist
(Of course, I did grow up in the buckle of the Bible Belt, but my parents were not devout and I never went to church on any sort of regular basis.)

It might be "only" the College Championship, but I'll still take it. I don't go 5 for 5 in every College Championship.

I briefly considered Exodus on Monday and briefly considered John Kennedy Toole on Tuesday ("New Orleans" made me think of Toole right away, but then "Stanley" and "Stella" immediately led me to the correct response).

I luckily precalled "Whigs" and "Eiffel Tower" based just on the category.

I never knew that the words "Conscience" and "Cotton" were names of factions of the Whigs, but I did know that the Whigs were divided over slavery in the time period leading up to the Civil War.
