Black history month and the Academy Awards are Sunday the 24th. The nominees would be announced shortly before taping? The writers could throw in a very recent clue on the Super Bowl teams that will be determined on Jan. 20th? Something about presidential inaugurations would be timely.opusthepenguin wrote:Assuming that's correct, there's Valentine's Day (second day quarterfinal) and Presidents Day (4th day quarterfinal) trivia to bone up on. Anything else?Linear Gnome wrote:I think Feb. 13-26 is a good bet based on this.ComingUpMilhouse wrote:Yeah, I'm pretty sure it'll be February. My episode is supposed to air February 27, and I'm pretty sure Alex opened the show with a comment like, "Wasn't that an exciting Tournament of Champions?" It's possible I'm misremembering and he was talking about another tournament, but I think it's ToC.

Maybe a contestant will invite you to be in the audience. Then the rest of us will be jealous.jpahk wrote:you guys are making me excited, but also jealous.

I'll probably be leaving my tiara at home. I imagine you can pull it off better than I could anyway.Dr. J wrote:Looking forward to it! Are you bringing your tiara, or is that just me?Swift'sSecondCourse wrote:I'll be seeing you there, Dr. J!

I was a little disappointed when I didn't get a tiara after my wins, so I had to get one for myself. Can't be a Jeopardy Queen without a tiara, I figure!

Where is the like button for tiaras? (My nickname in high school was JeopardyQueen, and my cafe's logo is a crown)- I really, really, really hope they let you wear one for the ToC- long may you reign!

I asked Maggie if I should bring my tiara, and she said, "I think you absolutely must." And one mustn't disappoint Maggie! I gave a tiara as one of many prizes for my March Think Different game. It has only been 9 months, so I certainly assume that gamawire still wears it everywhere she goes.

I know that it's still early to do it since at least 1-2 of these people will probably be bumped from the field, but right now for gold, silver, bronze I'd say:
Spoiler
Gold: Jason Keller, Dave Leach, Dan McShane, Patrick Morrison, Keith Whitener
Silver: Francis Lansanagan, David Menchaca, David Gard, Stephanie Jass, Jason Shore
Bronze: Patrick Quinn, Colby Burnett, Monica Thieu, Joel Pool, Paul Nelson

Considering my interest in tiaras, Dave Leach has suggested that we make this year's TOC a black-tie affair -- who's with us? I need to know if I should pack my gown...

Dr. J. speaks the truth. What can I say? I own a tuxedo and don't get half as many opportunities to wear it as I'd like.

I'm down. However, the fact that it will air before six in some places and after six in others will raise questions of whether the gentlemen should be wearing morning coats or dinner jackets.Dr. J wrote:Considering my interest in tiaras, Dave Leach has suggested that we make this year's TOC a black-tie affair -- who's with us? Recently, I've seen a string of a few champions, specifically Alistair and Kris, who, I thought, had potential for the Tournament but yet both are out.
