Who was the only person to win an Oscar for playing Santa Clause?

Edmund Gwenn or Billy Bob Thornton? Choices, choices.Vanya wrote:Who was the only person to win an Oscar for playing Santa Clause?
Possible; don't know if they would have made a second statue or just double labeled Charlie's.goforthetie wrote:For the next question, I'm curious to know whether Charlie and Donald Kaufman would have counted if Adaptation had won for Best Adapted Screenplay.
It's not clear to me what constitutes the individual score. Is it the number of other Oscar winners who are within 3 degrees of separation of this winner? If so, then some of these scores are incorrect. Is that what you meant in your note that "some of these names are incorrect?"Volante wrote:...Really? Anjelica Huston? Welp...*throws notes in the air*...I got no material for that one.
13. HOLLYWOOD ROYALTY
Much like in politics or business, Hollywood has their Kennedys, their Windsors, their Hapsburgs, their Bushes. Children, spouses, they all find a way to get in the biz, and some aren't just successful, they win awards. Maybe talent is genetic...
Name two Oscar winners who are related in three degrees of seperation or less on the family tree.
Two parter. Only fitting since the clue itself is sort of a double. This post, partially as a teaser and partially as me taking a break since sorting this was bleck, will display the frequency of names used. Note: some of these names are incorrect, this is not denoted here, but will be in the next post where I give the scores.
If you remember what you sent, your score (if both names are right; unfortunately lots of Honorary only recipients below), will be:
((Name 1 Frequency)+(Name 2 Frequency))*0.5
Alan Bergman (1)
Alfred Newman (1)
Anjelica Huston (4)
Scores are in the next post, which should hopefully get done within the hour. It'll make more sense.RandyG wrote:...

didn't we establish earlier that Judy won an honorary Oscar?

From the clarifications: "Except where explicitly mentioned (i.e., Question 5), an Oscar Winner refers to someone who's won a competitive award. Not an honorary."
Not that it makes a difference, but I should have switched my millions with my tens of thousands!Volante wrote: The 70th Academy Awards telecast, in the US, had 57.25 million viewers.
