I'll do college football, and I'm trying to follow Paucle's suggestion, but I have the strangest feeling I misunderstood what he meant by TR ... hmm, oh well.
ETA: Poorly executed joke on my part has me cluelessly changing my avatar to Teddy Ruxpin ... oh well, it made sense to me at the time.

Not sure how I'll do, but I'll give it a shot. Gilbert & Sullivan as my specialty, please.

Wow, every one of these categories scare me... NCAAF would be the one sports area that I know the least about (at least in comparison to what "others" would know about the subject). i suppose I could study, but I'm done with that sort of thing
Hmm... let's go with "Names almost the same", thanks!

OK, none of this dicking around with what might be a specialty. Let's take "European Rivers" and go straight for the wheelhouse!

Oddly, the man in your avatar portrait is a dwead ringer for W.S. Gilbert.dhkendall wrote:OK, none of this dicking around with what might be a specialty. Let's take "European Rivers" and go straight for the wheelhouse!

This is one of the many ways I differ from Chester A. Arthur (aka "the man in your avatar portrait".)* I am not knowledgeable on G&S (for that matter, I don't know if Arthur is either), and I was never the 21st President of the United States. (I refrain from commenting on the other ordinal numbers).Magna wrote:Oddly, the man in your avatar portrait is a dead ringer for W.S. *you'll notice several boardies recently changed portraits to a US President, this is based on another game on this board that was recently concluded based on US presidents, our avatars are based on our standings (and in my case, presumed standing)

I noticed that. There's no particular meaning to the similarity - it just struck me as kind of funny.dhkendall wrote:*you'll notice several boardies recently changed portraits to a US President, this is based on another game on this board that was recently concluded based on US presidents, our avatars are based on our standings (and in my case, presumed standing)

Okay, what is TR? (And if it's college football, maybe T.O.? As in Tom Osborne!)Paucle wrote:Anyone picking College football should change their avatar to TR

Re: Who's Special #4
Given the context, I think that you can safely assume that TR == Teddy Roosevelt. For the back story, see: http://www.theodoreroosevelt.org/kidsco ... otball.htm.thejeopardyfan wrote:Okay, what is TR? (And if it's college football, maybe T.O.? Re: Who's Special #4
I thought about T. Roosevelt after I posted that, but I didn't know what he had to do with football. I'll click your link when I have my computer on. Thanks, assuming you are trying to help! (I can't quite tell by the tone of your post.)
