For the US Geography question, it went something like this:

Me: "oh, I can picture it in my head! I know this one and it isn't coming to me! Shoot! I'm sure I'm going to kick myself when the answer is revealed."

[beep]

Alex: "The correct response is 'What is Ribbon Falls?'"

Me:  "Or not."

Missed a 5/5er by one country.
I gave the 3rd extra a "surprised" because not only didn't I know it, but I didn't know it when I heard it. I know I've seen the falls probably hundreds of times in pix and video, but never knew what it was called.
ETA: lol, like David just described.

Well, considering I went with P. Gauguin and India/Pakistan, I was on the right track with those.

ETA: Apparently wrong order.

I would've gotten Afghanistan/Pakistan if given 10 more seconds. Missed it by that: >< much...

I haven't read it yet, but a friend and fellow Hoosier ex-pat sent me a copy of the Vonnegut biography last month.

Bridal Veil Falls was the only falls in Yosemite I could think of (other than Upper/Lower Yosemite Falls, of course). No hope on the other two.

Got all but Ribbon Falls. No chance there. I'm guessing that will poll very low.

I thought of Pakistan and Afghanistan on Tuesday, but not together. I consider that kind of a payback for getting Monet with silly reasoning ("Haystacks were plants once!").

I'm not sure I've heard of Ribbon Falls, and I live in California and have been to Yosemite.

When I went to Niagara Falls in 2010, I got to visit their version. I'm wondering if Yosemite's version are the falls I'm actually picturing?

ETA: Just went to a site, and I couldn't pick my waterfalls out of a line-up. Could've been picturing anyone of three of them, but I think Bridal Veil is most likely. (Although I see Yosemite Falls was in the running for the 2010 California Nat'l Park Quarter design. )

As often in the past, geography was my downfall. Afghanistan was my first thought, but I didn't think they'd be repeating an FJ question one week apart. Even without that, I might have rejected it. I went with China/Tibet..
Don't think I've heard of those falls.

It's been a year since I stopped working at Barnes & Noble. It sucks to lose one's advantage in modern literature questions.

+1 I've hiked, camped and backpacked in Yosemite and I can't ever recall hearing that name. I said "Yosemite Falls" without a moment's hesitation before doing the double take.
