Re: New old games in the J-Archive
Richard Rasmussen #3 has been added: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=4227 to handle a request of something from 1994-95. Check out Alex's remark after clue 30 of the J! round and then Richard's count of clues correct at the end of the game.
Richard has a deep voice and intimidating presence which probably helps as a probation officer. It was funny to see him start with Women On Ice and get 4/5 and later get the Hillary Clinton clue correct.

Re: New old games in the J-Archive
January 4, 2002 is done: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=1140MinnesotaMyron wrote:I would like to see the January 4, 2002 episode, which features my all-time favorite literature category; and the June 14, 2002 episode, which features one of my all-time favorite TV categories. (Both games have been entered into the archive already as skeletons.) And I see that the June 17, 2002 episode features a category from my old nemesis Leonard Maltin. I wouldn't mind seeing that one either.
Thanks!

I felt like I should make a notation for 4th podium game.
Hammer there is a beaut of a neg baiting undervalued trap for $200 in Tough Potpourri of the kind that you love so much.
Myron may have wanted to see the Lit category, but the one for future players to pay even more attention to is Yes, Sir! for need to know names.

No kidding. I got $400 and $600, and I at least found $800 and $1000 reasonable.MarkBarrett wrote:Hammer there is a beaut of a neg baiting undervalued trap for $200 in Tough Potpourri of the kind that you love so much.

Re: New old games in the J-Archive
I went way back to get Donald Burgo #4 in the archive today: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=4230
Business & Industry $200: Yeah I bet it was. That might be a good company to pay attention to its products and how they sell
Business & Industry $1000 was a solvable headslapper, but still would have got me even with FJ think time.
Some of you could probably come close to running Famous Duncans without seeing the clues.
Before you see the wagers take a shot at predicting how each player will bet in the FJ! round.

Are we up to 4230 games entered already? Or at least that many games' shells?MarkBarrett wrote:I went way back to get Donald Burgo #4 in the archive today: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=4230

Sandy and Hines.

I didn't get his or Kathy's wager.
How did they miss the sports clue about what year the Ali-Liston fight took place when they were given a huge hint?

It's only a good hint if you have a clue when he won the medal.Bamaman wrote:How did they miss the sports clue about what year the Ali-Liston fight took place when they were given a huge hint?

Re: New old games in the J-Archive
The correct response in 5-letter words for $200 does not fit the category. Then they drew terrible terrible negbait by throwing a certain word into the clue at $300.

Thank you for the catches. Harpsichord has a "p" now and I put Hollywood in parentheses.bpmod wrote:The correct response in 5-letter words for $200 does not fit the category. Then they drew terrible terrible negbait by throwing a certain word into the clue at $300.

Re: New old games in the J-Archive
The DJ round has no Daily Doubles, but the three unrevealed clues are in one category. What gives?
If Donald had made the normal wager in this game and made the same amount in game 5 (somehow, despite having a different challenger), his five-day total would have been $27,579. J.J. Todor's total ($29,021) would still have been ahead of his, but Paul Nelson's $54,900 would have become the doubling-adjusted low record for a five-day total.
I was just wondering whether there were any weird-ass ties in Jeopardy in which neither party made the advisable wager and they just happened to land at the same spot.

Not yet in the archive, except as a placeholder:

The game is, however, referred to in the glossary: http://www.j-archive.com/help.php#bridgessrule

Mark archived the game and presumably has the tape.TenPoundHammer wrote:Yeah, you might wanna check this one, bpmod. I don't see any DDs hiding.seaborgium wrote:The DJ round has no Daily Doubles, but the three unrevealed clues are in one category. What gives?
Where do you get these old games, Mark? I try looking them up on you tube and most of what I find are already archived or have dates that can't be determined or have some date claimed for them that may be inaccurate.
