Finally, I got an instaget FJ after missing the last few. I only got to see the last few clues and didn't get any of them. I got FJ right away though when Alex was still reading the clue.

Spoiler
"What is Uranus?"

"Yes, the planet."
I guess Alex felt obliged to clarify. :D

Regarding the penultimate English kings clue, I believe:
Spoiler
"Who is Harold?" should have prompted a BMS. The Harold who was on the losing end of the Norman Conquest was the second English king by his name.
Poo-tee-weet? So it goes.

Why spoilerize when you're in a spoilers thread?

I (already) know what checkbox I'm not checking in this week's vote. :D

If I had 50 cents for every math question I got right, I'd have $6.30 by now.

"Quadratic equation" was a triple stumper? :(
And I felt that Margaret Atwood was overvalued at $2000.

Ad before FJ: "Patients taking aspirin and the elderly…" I'd hate to be taking the elderly.

I knew The Tourist since I saw Film Brain reviewed it, but was blanking on the title. And I agree with him — Depp is terribly miscast there.

And once again: how the HELL do you keep all those kings straight? I try and try, and they all just blend together.

Not even a guess on FJ! Didn't even know where to start. Even if the clue had said "guitar" I wouldn't have come within a million miles of it.

This must be the sixth Monday FJ in a row that I've missed, or close to it. Not even a glimmer of recognition. Oh well, something to file away for future use.

What was Sara trying to accomplish with that wager?!

There's probably no single person that has changed recorded music the way that Les Paul did.

No need to say 'guitar'. But then again, I may be biased.

You saw it ... she was trying to accomplish a nice, round number when she missed FJ.

Like you, I missed FJ. Never would have thought of him.

An average game to watch and I managed to pick up some Lach Trash (e.g., The Tourist, parentheses, quadratic).

FJ was an instaget.

Instagot FJ, but did not do nearly as well on the boards. I got a C in algebra back in tenth grade you Jeopardy Jerks!

Les Paul played a weekly show here in NYC until right before he died, I think that helped me remember.

Just a very underwhelming episode, too many unanswered questions, the Clue Crew talking forever, and I knew as soon as the FJ came up that Joel would get it but the others wouldn't. Don't get the bet by the leader and part of me makes me wish she had gotten the question right.

Joel is, uh, a six day champ who gets his FJs, I'll give him that.

I honestly wish that they would stop with the clue crew. They take about 30 seconds to explain a clue that had a very obvious answer 2 seconds in to it. It's really just wasting time, and luckily they managed to get all 60 clues. I also don't like to complain about the contestants, but I really wish they would go through a brief lesson on FJ wagering, I mean if you don't bet to win, then why bet at all?

This was a good board for the most part, though there were a few clues that were clunkers. I didn't care for the Algebra category; most of the clues in it were either poorly written, overvalued, or undervalued. I had never heard the term "ordinate" before.

I had no idea on FJ, but I liked the clue. I was definitely thinking in terms of musicians who were more famous as performers but might have invented some kind of musical instruments, so I ended up with no guess.

Joel's 5/6 on FJs is amazing, but It is also amazing that he keeps getting these lucky breaks.

Yes, he played every night at Iridium off Times Square. I'm going there to see Charlie Watts for a couple of shows in late June. I actually watched the first half of the show w/o doing other crap & I was 29/30, shepherd moons the exception. DJ was tougher. Interestingly, I did better in A-uthors as the money got bigger..

I'm the most muscly uninclined person on these boards and I got FJ. Although my heart skipped a beat when I saw Freddy Fender.

Commentary on Joel's first five games, hidden if you have not seen them......
Spoiler
in six games, Joel is 5/6 on FJ, while his opponents are 2/12. In three of his games, he entered FJ in second place and benefited from the leader missing it. Although he still would have won today even if the leader got it right. He also would have lost on Friday had the player who got it right not also made a bad wager.
While Friday's player can be forgiven for not expecting Joel to overwager,
the bet by today's player was inexcusable. Not only does she not cover second place, she doesn't bet to lock out third place.

I think Indy bet too much. The female player (can't remember her name) should have bet $7,001, which would have put her at $7,599 on a miss. Therefore, the best bet by him would have been $1,299, which guards against her offering Joel a tie.
