Well, if my calculations are correct, alietr and I are currently tied for the lead, with Fowlerism edging out econgator for 3rd place. 94 votes have been cast, and I guess if no one else votes in the next 5-6 hours, we will have co-champions of the inaugural edition of this contest.
I suppose if we want to play again this week, people should submit their entries before this week's poll is posted, usually around 8:00 Eastern.
Here are the FJ clues for the week:
M: Events in the Bible: Acts 1:13 says this event occurred in "an upper room".
T: Authors: His multi-novel series is based on Robert Browning's poem "Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came".
W: Political Terms: 19th century reports on horse races used this 2-word term to mean horses that were in the field but didn't finish high.
Th: U.S. Top Selling Albums: The bestselling album of all time by a female is a 20 million seller by this woman who started singing at age 8 in Ontario.
F: Islands: This nation independent since 1960 is the largest island in the world with French as one of its official languages.
Here are the correct FJ responses for the week:
M: The Last Supper, or Pentecost, or any number of other possible responses
T: Stephen King
Th: Shania Twain
I still think we should just skip Monday's screwed up FJ and predict the poll results of the other 4, but I'll guess a number for all 5 just in case mine is not the majority opinion.
