Yay for an Atlanta venue! I hope that it will be out here in the suburbs and not downtown.
No dice - it's at Manuel's Tavern.
That's okay, I am still happy to have an Atlanta venue!

If you're wondering what the questions are like, I have the question sets from 2007-2009. I can easily scan them to PDF for whomever wants them.

Edit: Spelling.

Incidentally, former J! Champ Dave Leach will be proctoring the Atlanta location.

Thnx for the info. Brandeis huh? That makes it doubly hard as Ive heard parking's pretty bad too. I'll RSVP and see what's up.
Would have been nice if it were at a public library or even a restaurant in Boston.

If you're on the fence about doing the WQC this year, do it! Still plenty of time to RSVP. More and more North Americans are taking the test every year, but we're still way behind those pesky Europeans. I think it would be very cool to have the top 100 scorers littered with boardies.

The test is a blast, and who knows? You may even run into a Jeopardy contestant or a fellow boardie.

See you there!

(Does Schliemann have any interest in the test? I didn't see his name in previous years.)

Parking's a non-issue, especially during the summer. At least as of a few years ago, BranPo doesn't have real authority, so the only effect of a parking ticket from campus police is that you can't graduate.

I'll be taking the quiz on Saturday, but I don't expect my name anywhere near the top after reviewing the quizzes from previous years. I believe I'll have learned more from the quiz than I'll have answered on it.

Actually, I'm happy to say I'll be playing at the Atlanta location! My girlfriend Leslie was kind enough to volunteer to handle the proctoring so that I can get in on the quiz as well.

It just occurred to me this afternoon to drop by JBoard and see if there was a WQC thread going. Please find a local venue and join us tomorrow! I took the quiz some years ago - it's a tough, fun challenge. What struck me last time around was the amount of international content in the test. You never really notice how Ameri-centric the trivia games we play are until you play something like WQC.

My plane lands in Atlanta at 2:00, so I'm bummed I can't make it.
