A tale of two competing geniuses . . . no, it's not Rutter vs. Jennings . . . it's Michelangelo vs. Edison:

You are going to lose an hour of something this weekend. What’s it going to be?

At the risk of picking nits .... it's Daylight Saving Time.

But yeah, for me it's just a lost hour of sleep. Personally, I think that they should push the clocks forward in the middle of the afternoon. I could do with an hour less of work! :)

When I get the hour back, I always end up doing something other than sleeping. Usually reading or watching a movie.

With the new regulations for Daylight Saving Time, my birthday occasionally falls on the "spring forward" date (and did last year), robbing me of an hour of MY DAY, dammit!

I blame the Republicans.

I have one of those atomic clocks in the bedroom that shines the time on the ceiling. The first year I had it, I set my alarm just before 2:00 AM. That way I could be up and see the clock go straight from 1:59 to 3:00.

Yes, I'm that dorky.

Wait- I thought you and I got into a good-natured debate about this on a recent clock change when I whined about someone adding an "S" to saving. Wasn't it you that said it didn't matter? Probably not here (but could've been). I'm thinking it was in KJs place.
Perhaps it wasn't you. Hell, I'm not even sure I was involved. Probably two other people.

Speaking of DST... I had intended to modify the phpBB code so that boardies would not have to log into their respective user panels and change the setting come Sunday morning, but, as yet, I haven't.

We should probably put a big sticky on the main page reminding them.

Or let them have the wrong time for a few months before they notice.

If I had 50 cents for every math question I got right, I'd have $6.30 by now.

I like option 2, personally. :)

(Really, what's the point of even having the correct time on the board?)

You mean as opposed to the wrong time? Or as opposed to no time?

I was pretty proud of myself when I finally figured out how to put the (current) time back on the board, after it had been missing for a while.

We have family in Mesa who will remind us of this constantly for the next two weeks every time they call.

I once spent a whole weekend in Phoenix without knowing the correct time (in the days before phones did it for you), and only learned what time it really was when I showed up an hour early at a reception on Sunday evening.

Oh, well picked, like an eight-year-old's knee scab. Thanks!

And thanks to barandall for the overt praise. Just felt I should let you know your comment generated one contented smile among the many thoughts of "Don't encourage him!" scattered throughout the land.

I realized I hadn't read it yet when I saw barandall's comment, so just did. (Agreed, well said. As are most of those comments of yours!)
At first I didn't see the nit econgator was picking, since Bill's got it right. But then I see the tag has the noun, not the verb. Nice catch by econ!

ETA: oh- just saw the above comment by Bill. Presume it was fixed in the article? My bad!
