This quiz came up in my Facebook feed today: Are you smarter than a Jeopardy! contestant?. It's 24 multiple choice questions provided by jeopardy.com. It's fun, but not nearly as tough as the online test (which they freely acknowledge). Giving the wording of the question, I wonder what those of you who've been on the show would learn about yourselves taking this

Missed a perfect score on a 50-50 tossup.
Spoiler
Waffled between baby bump and fist bump. Chose the wrong one.
I needed the multiple choices on only a handful. I'd expect most boardies can get at least 20 and plenty can get all 24.

It's odd that the quiz asks you whether a certain event in Exodus happened at Mount Sinai or Mount Horeb. Do they really expect us to know that it's Exodus that refers to Sinai while Deuteronomy refers to Horeb when talking about the same events on, presumably, the same mountain? Of course not. They just didn't have enough Biblical literacy to write the clue properly. In that respect, I'd say the quiz writers gave us the genuine Jeopardy! experience.

What was the question? That page loads entirely too slow on my computer to click through 24 questions.

I think it was referring to a magazine cover (I don't remember which). The act of fist bumping is way older than that. I just flipped a coin and hoped there weren't any newsworthy pregnancies at the time.

What tripped me up on the fist/baby bump question was that the blog "Separated By a Common Language" has a yearly post that lists the top word of the year that originated in the UK and was generally adopted by the US and vice-versa. Baby Bump was a US->UK winner not too long ago.

THIS "BUMP" MADE TIME MAGAZINE'S TOP 10 BUZZWORDS OF 2008

What is a baby bump?
What are goosebumps?
What is a fist bump?
What is a speed bump?

Obvious to me, but...
Spoiler
apparently everyone else forgot the 'Terrorist Fist Jab'
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

Not certain I've ever heard of it to allow me to forget it. :)

Watching the Euro 16 games live leads to punishment by the repetition of that Bon Jovi ad.

They shouldn't talk about Alex Trebek like that!

I wonder if Culver City has changed for the better in the last 30 years. In 1986 it was ugly (though not hideous), squat, and functional. I couldn't imagine anyone calling it a "sweet little city."

I can't speak for Culver City at large, but it does have a "sweet little" downtown area.

How dare I had to find this thread on page 2.

The 7/15 NYT crossword puzzle had:

14D: Nine-time presidential contender of the 1940s-'90s [7 letters]

After filling in the name I was curious about hits he had in the Archive: http://www.j-archive.com/search.php?sea ... mit=Search

I guess he's due this year?
