You know what are great? Egg creams. I may be the only person who wasn't alive in Brooklyn in the 1950s to share that opinion.

Although I personally think less than nothing of most awards (and their corresponding shows), I think it is pretty amazing that a nomination could go to a release consisting of an almost 63 year old recording done by a person who had been dead (at the time of nomination) for over 38 years.
Of course, it's not entirely surprising, seeing as aforementioned dead person is still selling out concerts.

Growing up on the West Coast, I had never heard of an egg cream until Mr. Klawicki (Dick Butkus) started serving them on My Two Dads.MitchO wrote:+1 Huge fan here, I regularly buy U-Bet just to make egg creams at home.9021amyers wrote:You know what are great? Speaking of which, has there ever been a more disturbing premise for a sitcom?

The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

I notice on the bottom of the page where it shows who is on jboard at any given time, it almost always (at least when I'm around) shows spiders from Baidu. I'm not averse to bots searching the place like from places like Yahoo, Bing, and Google, who often visit, which helps us be found (btw, welcome search engine bots, you can grab a seat over there next to the bowl of nuts and bolts - that's just for you. Caknuck thought it was this kind of nuts and bolts and chipped a tooth once.) But Baidu? A Chinese search engine? Chinese people don't even get Jeopardy broadcast there! Maybe if we talked more about things like Tibetan independence and the Dalai Lama and Tiananmen Square and Taiwan and government censorship by the Chinese communist party, the Baidu bot will leave.

Nooooooo! None of the '3 Ts' unless in game context! Then this would become yet another site I can't get on, like facebook, twitter (which I don't use), youtube, sporcle (maybe the most frustrating besides google....) and hipmunk (the travel site) without a way to get around the Great Firewall. As a cria (baby LLama), I'm already nervous that LL will get blocked at some point, since it uses something google-related.dhkendall wrote:I notice on the bottom of the page where it shows who is on jboard at any given time, it almost always (at least when I'm around) shows spiders from Baidu. But seriously, I have noticed Baidu and thought it curious. My apologies if my frequent visiting is what brought said spiders to the board.
ETA: I just looked at the bottom of the page. It's not there, and that's the first time I've ever seen it gone. Maybe it thought you asked nicely enough?

That was lovely. Thanks. There's something about Opus (not me, the real one) that's quite attractive. I think a lot of us wish we had his good qualities. And we wish that, like him, we only had lovable shortcomings. I adopted this nom de plumage 15 or 16 years ago as a way of signifying my own aspirations in those regards. To be like Opus does not seem so lofty a goal. Yet how often I fail to live up to the name.alietr wrote:Our favorite bird had another admirer:

Perhaps there should be a sequel to "The Tao of Pooh" and "The Te of Piglet"? "The Zen of Opus" might be the next bestseller.opusthepenguin wrote:That was lovely. Thanks. This is the text of an email Mr. Hoodoo received. This must have been translated one word at a time on a phone. Simply instead of just, possess instead of have. I'm still trying to figure out what "induce to perceive" is supposed to mean.dhkendall wrote:You'd think that spam is just a way to combine international money fraud with Mad Libs.econgator wrote: Apparently Mr. Bill Gates wealth is a "she" and somehow, in the space of a few lines, the dude who was the Head Dispatch Officer got fired and they have already hired and trained someone else.
I would not normally post on here however... Simply broke up with my boyfriend, I terribly wish to hunt out a sensible guy to induce to perceive,
and have some fun with (I like to possess fun if you acknowledge what i mean!)
Edited for duh moment. Induce to perceive must be language mill for get to know. I think I prefer induce to perceive as it could involve spirituality or, at least, the use of hallucinogens.

I googled a list of synonyms for "perceive", and one of them was "make out".PowerofHoodoo wrote: I would not normally post on here however... Simply broke up with my boyfriend, I terribly wish to hunt out a sensible guy to induce to perceive,

"I like to possess fun if you acknowledge what i mean!" is the best sentence I've read all day. It is impossible to say this without at the least a Borat accent. Looking like Borat is bonus points.
