Thanks for the quiz, Clowny! ;)

Could you briefly explain the objections to the wording in the bonus just-for-fun question. The first pass was kinda awkward, but the replacement seemed fine.

Congrats to our podiumanders!

Sure. One player contested that Pierrot was not a character in the Commedia dell'arte, or that he was a peasant farmer, not a clown. I don't remember the exact comment, but I decided to throw it out since that was the second objection.

From Wikipedia:
Pierrot is a stock character of pantomime and Commedia dell'Arte whose origins are in the late seventeenth-century Italian troupe of players performing in Paris and known as the Comédie-Italienne. His character in contemporary popular culture is that of the sad clown, pining for love of Columbine, who usually breaks his heart and leaves him for Harlequin. Performing unmasked, with a whitened face, he wears a loose white blouse with large buttons and wide white pantaloons. Sometimes he appears with a frilled collaret and a hat, usually with a close-fitting crown and wide round brim, more rarely with a conical shape like a dunce's cap. The defining characteristic of Pierrot is his naïveté: he is seen as a fool, often the butt of pranks, yet nonetheless trusting.

Pierrot is also the subject of two of the paintings I used for the ARTISTS round:

I questioned whether the bonus question was clear enough. I thought there could probably be a lot of correct answers - "commedia dell'arte," "Pierrot," "pantomime," "zany," or any number of local names. It was a good concept though.

Thanks for a fun game! :D
