While digging through the 1940 census data looking for my family's information, I came across the following entry that may be of interest to people here (it is on Line 11, and he was a friend of my father's):

Well, I listed my beautiful home for sale this morning! It's my initial move in a slow transition to retirement. I'll be going from Long Island to coastal South Carolina where I have plenty of family. It's the best day I've had in a long time! Now if only the house goes quickly...
