Re: Reretaken Down

Too bad Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy was the Colorado running back for the fifth down game. That would be like if Missouri finally got an NBA team again and it hired Tyus freaking Edney as an assistant coach.

Has anyone spelt the response outside of times when the category dictates you spell it?...
I seem to recall a contestant once spelled the city of Brno.

Re: Final Jeopardy! Clues

Here's a relatively hard one. PULITZER PRIZE WINNERS They're the first and last names of the 1954 Pulitzer winner in Drama as well as the first and middle names of the 2005 Pulitzer winner in Drama. John Patrick (John Patrick won in 1954 for "The Teahouse of the August Moon" and John Patrick Shanley...

Re: LL82: LearnedLeague

I see non-llamas can't see 1DS results anymore (or final LL standings). As someone who's too cheap to join (and too unpopular for an invite, anyway), this makes me sad.

Today's Final could have been rewritten as a Bible-based wordplay clue, such as:

Remove three letters from a Biblical giant to get this Philistine city, the giant's hometown.

(OLI gets taken out of GOLIATH to form GATH, of course.)

I'm surprised I haven't seen any mentions of Nathan losing a tiebreaker on "Million Second Quiz" to eventual runner-up Brandon Saunders. That tiebreaker was Iowa's postal abbreviation.

I thought the TOM on the Oklahoma City question was the implied reference to the Oklahoma land rush. By the way, cheaters at the land rush were called "sooners."

Have any other people gone from Thousandaire to the main game? That was weird to see him again.
I recall Jason Zollinger has appeared in both Thousandaire and the main game; he also competed against Seaborgium in J!'s TOC final.

Re: $0 FJ Wager Poll

I remember this game http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=651 in which James Quintong had a lock game with only $4200 going into Final. And yes, this was with the doubled money values.

Re: Thursday, December 20, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

From the Seinfeld season seven episode "The Maestro":

JERRY: Did you have a good time?

ELAINE: Yeah, he's very interesting. Did you know that Mozart died while he was writing 'The Requiem'.

JERRY: (Sarcastically) Yeah, everyone knows that, it was in Amadeus.

ELAINE: Really?

Re: Summer Hiatus Challenge 2018--TOC Instant Replay (SPOILERS)

I answered Jonathan Lippe on the Most Interesting Man in the World because I couldn't remember what Gold... name he currently uses; Lippe (his stepfather's name) is what he used early in his career (I've seen him credited as Lippe on Gunsmoke and Bonanza multiple times). Hope that's okay.
