Re: Questions about getting tickets, and other stuff

I'm having trouble confirming my PM is sending. I did look up on Google maps our whereabouts of 12 December, and we arrived at the studio at 0935 and left at 1601. Airtight alibi for any crimes committed on the East coast that day. I thought it was 4PM in my earlier message, but padded it to 4:30. ...

Re: Questions about getting tickets, and other stuff

I actually got a call back from Lee saying that the taping was "changed from 12:00 to 2:00" and to arrive by 1:30.

Re: Questions about getting tickets, and other stuff

I would say, "be prepared for you to be told 'your tickets are for 2:15' when you call for confirmation". As of today, the situation is still clear as mud. The confirmation line says that there is no taping today (1/17) but does not have any other clarifications. The 800 number recording says that ...

Re: Questions about getting tickets, and other stuff

This seems like a good thread for this question. During the discussion about Alex's surgery and the change of taping schedule, I checked the J! web site and noticed that January 24 showed tapings at 11 AM and 12 PM. Based on the availability of a ridiculously cheap round trip and the ease of reusing...

Re: Final Fleming Episode

Also, is it just me, or is the Final Jeopardy! music about a half-step lower than it normally was? I've heard someone say that the pitch did get a little lower on later Fleming episodes. I know I've seen other 70s and 80s game show episodes where the music would be slightly lower pitched. Most like...

Re: Monday, January 8, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

Btw, it's supposed to be "ZEER-o-eth", not "ZEE-roth", right? Have I been pronouncing it wrong all this time? You were correct. I giggled a little at it. I've always pronounced it "ZEE-rowth" (two syllables, second one rhymes with "both"). Alex pronounced it "ZEE-rawth" (second syllable rhyming wit...

 :( :( :(  Orange and azure didn't faze me. I have not seen Dunkirk. I have not read anything by Garcia Marquez (that I recall). Didn't follow the bread crumbs to Goodyear on Thursday, though I should have. I have seen the movie and stage musical of Th...

 :(  :(   I do not recall ever having looked for Waldo. Have heard of all of the FJ! responses. Did not know Randy Travis. Have not been on WoF. I have no idea why I missed Hargitay on Friday. I thought of several police shows but L&O never ent...

:( :( :( :( :( :( Didn't solve the puffy shirt despite having seen the episode more than once. I remember the low talker but forgot that she had anything to do with the puffy shirt. Got Bavaria but not Bremen. I think I said Berlin for my other guess. (One problem with getting so...

Re: Friday, January 5, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

Loved Brandon's wager!

I wasn't optimistic about the FJ! category, but I actually solved the clue. It seems as if there have been a lot of clues about superheroes lately (including in today's game), so my first instinct was to think about non-superhero comics.

Re: Learned League 75 - Official Thread

Looks like I am finally getting moved to a different League (Taiga -- which makes as much sense as the Pacific League I was in :) ). Ah that's too bad. You referred me and I played against you in C rundle my second season then I played against you in B rundle in my third season and we both got rele...

Re: Wednesday, December 27, 2017 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

The spate of...inconsistent...FJ! wagering continues with Ami risking $1000 (less taxes) in real cash money for no reason. It didn't cost her, so whatever, I guess. The Hermitage seems like something I have probably heard about but apparently didn't make a dent in my consciousness.

Re: Thursday, December 21, 2017 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

One for the judges - pit master instead of pit boss? My ex-husband was a casino dealer for three years, and I never, ever, ever heard a pit boss referred to as a pit master during that time or my other trips to Las Vegas, so my ruling would be ooh, sorry. I'm sure I saw some of those commercials (I...

Re: Tuesday, December 19, 2017 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

I thought "Stars and Stripes" was used often enough that I'd have accepted it, but I can see that going either way, really. "Scrooge" should definitely not have been accepted, but I also didn't hear that she pronounced it that way. The difference between Scrooge and Scrooged is easy to miss if you'...

Re: Learned League 75 - Official Thread

Survived yesterday with a 1(2)-1(2) tie (we both got Sam Hill and Principia). I was close on a couple of others--said "interference" without "pass" and "Frankfurt-am-Rhein". But my favorite thing about checking results this morning is that, as long as I don't forfeit tomorrow, I've clinched non-rele...

Re: TPH on WoF 12/8/17 discussion [SPOILERS]

I wanted to add my voice to the chorus of congratulations. I actually got the first toss-up slightly before Bobby did, and "It's a Wonderful Life" with no letters, but Bobby ate my lunch on the other puzzles and exhibited more strategic thinking than I had realized was there. FWIW, I didn't think yo...

Re: Learned League 75 - Official Thread

I managed to drink my first beer of the season. Neither Q1 nor Q4 were classified as Theatre, but that's the way I got both of them: knew Copeland because of her stint in An American in Paris*, knew Screwtape by getting emails advertising a production of The Screwtape Letters. Got Lesotho because of...

Re: Monday, November 27, 2017 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

Instaget. Also precalled during the music that someone would guess Berlin for the other one. They didn’t. (Yes, I know that’s totally the wrong place for Berlin but if you’re not that good at German geography it’s not a horrible guess.). Then, while opening this thread, precalled that very few boar...
