Re: Friday, February 16, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

FJ Wagering: Vinay would normally wager 15,901 to protect from a double by Rob. But if he misses, that wager will leave him with 3800. Gianna should wager less than 200 to stay above that number, which she did. Because of that Rob doesn't need to worry about her ending with more than 4200. So his w...

Re: Football Category Poll (2/1/18 SPOILERS)

Generally run with QB under center, with two running backs behind him (RBs can be in "I formation" (single file) or side-by-side. Option 1: QB hands off to running back up the middle or off-tackle. Option 2: QB fakes the handoff, keeps the ball and runs laterally for a few yards before turning upfi...

Re: Thursday, January 11, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

I think it was one of those clues where knowing too much was a disadvantage. Most people are going to think of Jordan right away, but those with substantial college basketball knowledge are going to think "...but what about James Worthy?" And it's not like Worthy is too obscure for consideration. H...

Re: Wednesday, January 10, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

If you are going to miss FJ based on the category, then wagering 0 is the most reasont bet, no matter what place you are in. If you have zero chance of answering correctly you wouldn't have been there in the first place. Zero wagers have merit in certain situations, this is not one of them. No smil...

I would have wagered zero to begin with and had a lovely doodle for the world to see had I been up there. Interesting wager from second or third. Or first for that matter. Sounds like to some of you anagrams of senator is Jeopardy treason. 8-) 8-) 8-) Have a heart, Golf; give them a chance to be at...

Steph Bundy: 7000-3000=4000 Sean Sullivan: 18800-3800=15000 (New Champ) Meghan Whalen: 3000+3000=6000 I was hoping that Sean would think Steph would bet no more than 999 on FJ to ensure second, thus allowing him to bet 10800. Wagering 10800 would be incredibly foolish. Significantly worse than Step...

Re: Friday, December 29, 2017 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

I don't mind too much when Alex announces that the game is or isn't a runaway. But drawing attention to Travis' unhappiness with the category seems unfair. That's up to his opponents to notice or miss. I wonder if it affected Henry's wager. If so, I don't think he made the most of his insider info....

I don't think you've got anything to apologize for. There were some similarities for sure.
Yes, there were similarities. Yes, part of the post was unnecessary. I for one appreciated the apology and believe no harm was meant. Everybody makes mistakes, let's all move on.

I'll broach the subject. Has Austin died and been reincarnated as a black woman? The occasional surprise at right answers and DD wagering styles are certainly similar.
That did not need to be broached.

That was an awesome game to watch. Good for her on the DD's and then FJ in a strong category.

Re: Wednesday, December 20, 2017 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

That endgame was tough to watch. With (I think) 9 clues left and a DD available they went to the only top row clue. Remy took a small lead with 2 clues left, and then chose the $2k one when the $400 clue couldn't hurt her. Then she didn't stay clam and missed it meaning she had no chance of finishin...

Almost always have to respect a zero wager, most players don't have the guts to do so. Possibly because it will get laughed at by the ignorant.

Re: Wednesday, December 13, 2017 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

FJ! wagering: based on the responses, it didn't matter. But LaKadra overwagered by my math, which showed a max wager for her of 10,399 (to keep from falling below Rachel on a TS). Alternatively, her max would be 4599 to stay ahead of a double by Rachel and a neg by her and Bryce. $10399 is horrible...

Re: Monday, December 11, 2017 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

The only way Charlie can win is if LaKedra gets Final incorrect. Assuming she wagers to cover Charlie, which she did, an incorrect response would bring her score down to 23000-1801 = $21,199. Charlie must then wager to get to at least $21,200...equates to an $8800 wager (12,400 + 8,800). Moreover, ...

Thanks for running this. For the record, this was my first TD participation. Enough questions hit me in my wheelhouse that I was able to overcome my negative feelings towards these types of quizzes. For the record, this bias has nothing to do with the questions or those who write them. Many are pret...

I think it depends on how badly one wants to go to Hawaii, since you are getting a trip for the amount of the tax. If you have no interest in going, sure, turn it down and save the tax. Just like you could turn down the car. A vehicle is an easy asset to sell. Sign the paperwork, take possession of...

Kyle skrewed the pooch on his final wager. If Laura wagered zero, he would have lost by a buck on a TS. Thinking Venusian, he should have trimmed it to 3000 and clinched a tie-breaker in the unlikely event Ben wagered zero. He needed to bet exactly 6600 and trust his fate to a tie-breaker if he wan...

That was an awesome major league ass kicking! We should not be surprised Bobby plays Wheel in an optimal way unlike most contestants. Although I didn't think any types of gourmet cupcakes were available in his neck of the woods. And hopefully he gets some good tax advice on the non-cash winnin...
