Re: Final Jeopardy! Clues

The clue doesn't say "official" mascot though - it says "chief" mascot. If you do a bit of research you will see why it’s not a viable answer. I did, and I don't. A little help? In this context the definition of chief is listed as “most important, principal. Then use this http:/...

What about the Padres/San Diego Chicken? Figured someone would go there. Never been the official mascot. Still tricky negbait. The clue doesn't say "official" mascot though - it says "chief" mascot. If you do a bit of research you will see why it’s not a viable answer. I did, an...

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL MASCOTS One of two MLB teams whose chief mascot is a bird despite the team itself not being named for a bird. Re: Friday, November 26, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I guess I’m just not a fan of people singled out for being different. And I’m all for people of all differences succeeding in whatever they choose. And when it comes down to it we are all different in various ways. I would feel the same way if a headline pointed out that ToC champion Colby Burnett i...

Why does the first word of the title of that article have to be transgender? Who cares? That’s irrelevant. She’s a Jeopardy champion, that’s all that should matter. At least the challengers actually tried to win the game today with their DD wagers. Unlike the vast majority of contestants this week t...

Any game where Gerald Ford is a TS when given Leslie King Jr. does not deserve a winner.

Do not understand the love for Amsterdam in FJ given the French word in the clue. Brussels would seem to be a better wrong answer as at least French is widely spoken there.

Re: Thursday, November 18, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

There are countless clues throughout the years where the answer is Peloponnesian War(s). Basic history. But how many of those in FJ? None. Why? Because Jeopardy isn’t going to make you write/spell Peloponnesian War in that time frame. Therefore the answer has to be Punic even if you can’t keep the d...

I also dispute the assertion that it was common for them to tape fewer than five. As far as I've been able to tell, the only taping where Alex didn't go 5 since his diagnosis was his very last week of episodes. I seem to remember multiple contestants saying taping weeks were broken up into 2 and 3 ...

Naturally I’m a fan of aggressive play when it’s warranted, but I feel Taylor’s TDD was a strategic error. Was barely behind in Coryat going into the first DD so was close to even on the buzzer. The 3rd and 4th row clues were TS’s earlier in the round so it’s pretty clear it’s a weak category for ev...

Regarding lock ties, A stupid wager is one that is not GTO. The leader has slightly more than an 80% chance to win wagering either $0 or $1. All things being equal they are both perfectly acceptable. Any other wager shows significantly lower winning chances. There are player types who typically won’...

There’s no need to fear because you are correct. Riff Raff stole the Hopeless Diamond.

Underdog was such a great show.

CROSSWORD CLUES "H" $1000: Shaggy-haired & bewhiskered (7 Letters) From a purely gamesmanship angle, it would have been interesting to ring in with “what is Hillary” and then argue like crazy it had to be counted as correct. As for FJ, a cool question for bar trivia, a terrible one fo...

Why give this douche any more oxygen? As I’ve mentioned, I spent an evening in a social setting with him and other Packers and he was a complete prick. Not overly fond of a clue asking for the opening track of an album released 37 years ago. It's not sour grapes, I got it, (was in high school, one of my favorite albums, etc.) but the clue just seems awfully, well, trivial. Certainly don't know how someone not around my age would get it. Would love ...

For 20,200 vs 1,000 the safe maximum wager is 18,199. If you have a get rate above 50% I don't see why you wouldn't wager that amount. As I said upthread, because it's real money. You sit there from your couch and confidently state why somebody shouldn't wager $18k on one trivia question. What's th...
