Deirdre Thomas: 10400+6401=16801 (2x = $33,200)
Sara Nies: 5200+5200=10400
Erik Johnson: 8400+6000=14400
Obviously the $6k FJ wager is very sub-optimal. And in my opinion, Sara has one excellent option for a wager.

Re: Thursday, June 14, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

I've said it before and gotten laughed at, but there are certain instances against certain player types that if you truly play to win you wager everything from second place. Even if it means risking an extra $1k. The leader showed yesterday she couldn't do basic math. Sometimes Hail Mary's succeed. ...

Re: Monday, June 11, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

Hi J-Boarders. This is my first time posting (long time lurker), but I felt compelled to defend my honour (such as it is)! Here is how it went. In the few minutes that I had to come up with my wager, I actually tried to run through all possible scenarios in my mind (while attempting to do the math ...

One would be referred to as Katherine, the other Kate. Or Cathy. Or Kat. Probably not Kitty-Kat.

Not difficult.

Trying to come up with something positive to say about FJ because we all want the three contestants to come here and offer their thoughts.

They all wagered positive numbers.

Re: Millionaire 2017-18 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

I've sat through two of them now (previously as a +1 and again this season) and the content varies slightly. It might have been a response to a specific question from one of the contestants. The other thing that I asked during the contestant briefing was regarding the 50/50 lifeline. In the Regis d...

Re: You guys are obsessed over wagering way too much.

Eric's wager was not that much better cause he let 3rd back in the game when he had him locked out Eric once again wins with a bad final jeopardy bet that would have cost him the win on a TS. He should have bet 2601. Bad Wager Alert!! heartbreaking loss for Erica if only she had wagered more on her...

At least everyone made wagers that gave them a chance to win.
Sure, just not the best chance to win. In a SF game why would a challenger from way back bet anything other than everything? That should be common sense.

Should be.

Re: 2018 Teachers Tournament Wild Card Standings (Final results

Ranjani, 12K would've got you a spot in the semis easily. No need for the big bet. :( This was from tonight's game. And she shouldn't have made that big bet. Erika made it thru to the semis as a wild card with $5600????? Unbelievable! Bad wagering in some of the 1st round games. OK smart guys, what...

Re: Millionaire 2017-18 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

Yes. And have been since 1999. You hadn't noticed? Heh, I've only seen a dozen episodes total, if even that, since Regis stopped hosting. I've come across way more questions from MarkBarrett's updates in this topic. Understood. It has gone way downhill since the prime time days. But that shouldn't ...

Re: Millionaire 2017-18 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

As long as you're making "forward progress," you're allowed to think as long as necessary. If they see you fumbling around just trying to buy time, they can force you to walk away. This is why they encourage you to say absolutely everything out loud and not think in your head; they can't tell if yo...

They skipped Raleigh from two rounds ago (was it two rounds or three...I think two), they did go to Charlotte last round.
Do we KNOW that Raleigh was skipped, or are some assuming that since nobody on this board knows anything about auditions there?

Re: Millionaire 2017-18 Season Discussion [SPOILERS]

It was unfortunate that Scott, a stronger player than many who preceded him, couldn't trust the audience enough to make the jump from $30,000 to a 1 in 4 chance at $100k. I wonder how it would have played if he'd asked the audience before the 50:50; I think Russian would have stayed above 50%, with...

Given that evidence, I felt it was incredibly obscure compared to the likes of Air Bud, The Sandlot, Mighty Ducks, Angels in the Outfield, Space Jam, Rookie of the Year, Rudy, Space Jam, A League of Their Own, White Men Can't Jump, Little Giants, Major League, BASEketball, Happy Gilmore, and that's...

And this is why you can never tell the true talent of a contestant after one game.

Bad wagering from both first and third. If Osman is not going to cover 2nd, then bet just enough to cover 3rd. This would have won. In the end, the lone savvy wager makes all the difference.

Re: Tuesday, April 24, 2018 Game Recap and Discussion [SPOILERS]

Kate's wager on DD3 was sub-optimal. It's nice that she wagered to take the lead, but it would have only taken a second to count that there was only $1,200 remaining on the board and adjust her wager accordingly. Slow it down and think it through. If she had 30 minutes to make a wager, do you think...

Can someone help me understand tonight's FJ wagering? Sure, they were terrible. she figured both would probably double, as most jeopardy players double...she left herself with a dollar if wrong...was it the GTO play? not really sure...still better than the lame let's try and win by a dollar wager.....

Re: POLL: A Hypothesis about Auditions

Not to convince everyone that I am a conspiracy theorist, but . . . I thought that they brought on some fairly tough opponents for Ken Jennings, to prevent complete run-aways in the games. (Not that it did that much good.) Was this your impression, or not? One of the contestants I knew ran a local ...
