Re: LL64: For the LLamas Among Us

I considered the Dakar Rally but between that and Le Mans I know which one I'd consider more appropriately tagged with the adjective "prestigious."

Re: Sports Jeopardy! EP. 20 (2-4-15) [Spoilers]

As soon as I saw the category I was wide-eyed. Could it be? A soccer FJ? At this moment, Ronaldo is one of, if not the most recognizable face in sports on this planet. We've all got our strengths and weaknesses when it comes to sports trivia, but a triple stumper here was frankly unbelievable to me...

Re: Sports Jeopardy! EP. 20 (2-4-15) [Spoilers]

Given that they basically spotted you "Ronald," it's amazing no one could come up with that. Especially if Seth knows Messi's name, does he really not know Ronaldo's? The only thing I'll say about that is that asking for "first and last name" and having the answer be "Cristiano Ronaldo" when his ful...

Re: New Geography based trivia game

I quit after it marked me wrong for not saying Istanbul when the question specifically asked for a capital city (I put Ankara). Come on, man. Wow. That is terrible. Also, it doesn't appear to really recognize landforms. There was a question to which the answer was "Java" but I was docked several hu...

Re: Sports Jeopardy

Having been at the Dallas audition, and being a one-day champ, i'd say the questions were definitely more niche oriented than most of Jeopardy. I've found that on the TV show, there's usually a clue within the clue as to what it is. With many of the questions, you either knew who/where/when/what th...

Re: Sports Jeopardy

Would you say the test was as difficult as the regular on line test? Hard to say. Without going into any detail, I would say it did its best to cover a wide range of sports. I think someone who is relatively into sports trivia would find it comparable to how someone who is relatively into trivia wo...

Re: Sports Jeopardy

At the Dallas audition I attended, 24 out of 80+ passed the test and were invited to stay for the full audition. Anyone know how many audition groups per day there are? I heard them say there would only be two in Dallas but that there were three in the other cities. Although I have no idea how many...

Re: Sports Jeopardy

If I got the call for this show, I'd study up on teams near the audition cities. A large number of those trying out probably live near the cities given the expense involved in traveling to try out for a show where the maximum payoff is $5,000, except for the grand prize of an extra $50,000 for one ...

Re: Sports Jeopardy

Going to the Dallas audition on June 28. It's sort of weird that they didn't bother to weed people out with an online test first, but maybe the number of people who applied to appear is low enough that they can bring them all in and not risk having to guess who was cheating on the home test.

Re: Thursday, June 5, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

As the resident psychologist, I am very frustrated that I didn't run the psychology category. Somehow in all of my training I never learned about EST. Then again, after reading about it, it sounds like a bunch of crap, so I guess that's why they don't teach it. Yeah, it seemed a little sketchy to h...

Re: Thursday, June 5, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Took me until after the third answer to figure out the "State of Film" category, but at least it didn't take me all five like it clearly did the contestants. Also, film is my thing, so I ran it easily - only on the last one did knowing that a state name needed to be involved come as slight assistanc...

Re: Tuesday, June 3, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I would have won the HECK out of this game. Really easy board for me personally - I mean, when I'm running a category on musicals, you know it's all coming together - and the FJ was probably my fastest instaget ever. I'm sure if I ever get on the show the board will look nothing like this one.

Like others here, I don't think she's arrogant at all. I never understood the backlash against Colby, either. They seem like genuinely nice, cool people. If they have a facial tick, that's not something you can control, particularly under the pressure of being watched by millions of people. Yeah, t...
