Re: RIP online Howdies?

I wish they'd post all the Hometown Howdies and Winner's Circle videos on there. It would cool to be able to have access to those.

Re: Tuesday, September 24, 2013 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Just to clarify the geostationary vs. geosynchronous question, here is the actual wording of the clue:

Many satellites are in this type of orbit, in which they're at a fixed point moving at the same speed as Earth's rotation

The only correct answer is geostationary because of "fixed point".

Re: Tuesday, September 24, 2013 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I also thought they might be using 'geostationary' and 'geosynchronous' a bit too interchangeably. Actually, you're right. Geostationary and geosynchronous are *NOT* the same. Both have the same orbital period, but a geostationary orbit by design and definition has to stay over the same location on...

Re: Fun Facts on the Alex's Cards

I think most of mine got used. That part of the show was the under-the-radar hardest part of the show for me - I didn't have that many good 30-second stories at that point of my life (not that I do now, either...) I hated the interview part, too. Especially since the story about meeting my wife mad...

Go Pens! At least the two teams we can't beat won't be in the playoffs.

Re: Fun Facts on the Alex's Cards

Ps Pat, do you recall how I pissed you off back at the hotel when I said that many Jeopardy contestants are collectors because we're nerds -- or vice-versa? You assured me that your beer bottle collection didn't put you in that category! When you then told me how you had them displayed, I assured y...

Re: Fun Facts on the Alex's Cards

1. I won a prize for setting my oven on fire - this is the story I told on the show. 2. I knit for seafarers around the world. 3. This one was a response to the "good Samaritan" question - Years ago, our car died. We couldn't afford a new one, and a friend, out of the blue, gave us enough money to ...

Fun Facts on the Alex's Cards

This was brought up in another topic, and I was curious. What were the fun facts that were listed on the cards for Alex to choose from during the player interviews? Mine were: 1) How I met my wife (I met her on a dating website) 2) What I really do for a living (Transmission Line Engineer) 3) I have...

Re: Audition Emails

Here's what they've shown so far. There is actually a little bit on the audition process in the "meeting the team" episode. I can't say that I am particularly interested in what Alex eats for breakfast, but it was interesting to some of the faces behind the writing and auditioning process. (Plus th...

I must say, I love the baseball categories as I can always run them.

As for FJ, I guessed 10 provinces so I came up with the correct answer. I may be wrong, but in the 80s, weren't there 9 provinces and 2 territories in Canada?

Re: Wednesday, April 17, 2013 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

There is a Perry in Aerosmith. His name is Joe, and he plays guitar. Ah, I probably mashed Joe Perry and Steven Tyler together then. Would that someone had mashed them together... Steven Perry was the lead vocalist for Journey, just to add more confusion to the matter. There is a before and after w...

Maybe this topic has already been discussed, but did anyone else look at the J! website and see how they spoiled the results of tonight's game? Re: Wednesday, April 17, 2013 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I'm not much of an Eagles fan, but I could name four members of the band and all did lead vocals at various times, Just out of curiosity, which four of the seven (who each sang lead on at least one song) can you name? I realize that most (but not all) have been listed just above my post here. Full ...
