I debated between Coca-Cola and Big Boy. My coin flip cost me.

Re: Online Test Recap & Discussion (Central), January 29, 2020
Anyone from last year remember how soon they send out audition emails? I would imagine it's a month or so before the audition in the selected city to give advance notice while still avoiding a ton of cancellations. Last year I took the test in April. I got an invite in May to a June audition in DC....

I'm taking these for fun as I'm in the pool, but Wednesday's was the more difficult test. Good luck to all.

Re: Online Test Recap & Discussion (Pacific), March 8, 2018
Playing from the video, I got 44 on this test -- I think that's my best ever. So... for the three nights I am 30 - 41 - 44. And naturally, I took the first one for real. Sigh. I am trying to console myself by saying that the first one was obviously a fluke, and that bad luck can happen to anyone. A...

45. Much easier than yesterday. Of course, less pressure this time too.

If OQ has the correct answers, 41 for real this time. As often happens, I stumbled out of the gate, but I settled in. Changed Iran to India in a semi-panic. And talked myself out of Seine (how many other directional banks do I know?) Had no idea about Goodreads -- do they have a blimp? :? But, still...

Thanks for the video, sherder. 45, but I didn't take it for realsies last night as I completely forgot. Now for the impossible game of which will be more difficult: central or pacific. Misses (only for Jones and chalet did I not ponder the correct answer -- should've gotten chalet, as "The Swiss Cha...

Re: Timing of Audition Invite Emails
Is anyone else besides me leery of opening this thread when you see new posts in it? Each new post means someone else got an email to audition that I didn't get. I've been passed over for auditions so many times it seems like it will never happen, but the renewed interest in Canadian contestants ha...

I've been doing and passing the online since it began. Zero auditions. Always annoying seeing people get in after try one. On the other hand, I've gotten 2,415 times smarter since then.bomtr wrote: Tomorrow for real, once again, 40 plus every year since 2010 with zero calls to audition. I grow old.

I'm assuming just Anne is fine for Anne Bronte as the question already mentions Bronte.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Wed May 31, 2017 9:52 pmThe answer set looks good to me and yes there is leeway for test takers and spelling and full names. For example: Just Puccini is of course perfectly fine.

I think I did well. Only one I know I missed was mourning/morning.
Edit:
Looks like a 45. Also missed Superstore, Haley, Mitral valve and Dalai Lama.

Fiction: 79 Atlantic: 56 Maps: 165 I enjoy the start of the season, because I am often listed first. :geek: I think Maps is my best chance for the finals. Fiction could be difficult--as Bart Simpson said "I know of it", which is often good enough for general literature trivia but not for anything li...

Instaget FJ! Great clues this game with the exception of The Bold & the Beautiful. Those were excessively easy clues plus the time wasted. The clues were so easy I was begging Colby to bet it all on the DD. I realize it's difficult up there, but a TDD get would have been a major demoralizer and a m...

Back-to-back writing the wrong answer, crossing it off and writing the correct one (this time a bit after the key change.) I think it was boardie ElendelPickle (sp) who mentioned some time ago that Trojan War = Troilus and Cressida. I ran through Shakespeare's pairs of older civilizations, et voila.

I didn't realize it was such a little known fact that Ringo sang Yellow Submarine. I figured a few people would get it just because that's the only song they know for sure was sung by Ringo. But so far we're only hearing from people who either a) have a fairly deep knowledge of the Beatles' catalog...

I attended the finals in person, and it was great to see these composed and convivial teens again. Well played, guys.
Still smug about getting B-mo on the triple stumper, though. (My son watches AT, so I've seen more than my share of the show.)
