Re: Final Jeopardy! Clues

WORLD GEOGRAPHY Since 1993, it has been the world's most populous landlocked country. What is Ethiopia? This was a LL question back in LL75. Not that it makes the FJ! any less quality, just making note of it. IntegrityT wrote: As a result of a 1993 independence referendum that finished with 99.83% ...

Re: LL83: Learned League

After starting the season 5-2-2, I finished a rousing 2-10-4. Every single match where I got 4 or 5 correct in that patch ended in either a loss or tie. I also finished with 4 higher CAA than the next closest in the rundle. At least my DE was the 2nd best, which helped me stave off relegation to D!

Re: 2020 Online Test announced - Jan 28, 29, 30

For posterity's sake, here are the cities listed. I ordered them roughly in a circular route around the country. I can't imagine they're actually going to visit all of these, as there is particularly a large glut in the midwest. Even Indianapolis which I can't recall being on the list anytime in th...

First 9 games of the season: 5 wins, 3rd in the rundle.
11 games since: 1 win, 13th in the rundle.

Re: LL83: Learned League

And what was Q4 about? Something that adds up to the Union Jack is what I surmised, but had no clue on what each piece was. The union jack has the crosses of st. George (england), st. Andrew (Scotland) and st. Patrick (Ireland). As usual, Wales is ignored. Ah, thanks! Essentially the same question ...

Re: LL83: Learned League

Somehow ended up with the highest score out of B and C Prairie on the MSC. Went for an unsure guess on Hudson River (don't know where I pulled that one from). Went for 'hot dog' on Q3 based on the 'not a sandwich' line. And what was Q4 about? Something that adds up to the Union Jack is what I surmis...

Any other Strange Planet fans out there? It makes a J! reference today, and one that I feel we can all relate to.... https://www.instagram.com/p/B5VSheMFG57/ (My apologies for being lazy and not downloading the image to post on here). The second one for today also applies to me, oddly enough. "Chaos...

Re: LL83: Learned League

I threw down a bunch of answers really fast to avoid forfeiting, only half reading the questions. Picked a great day for my first ever 0(0).....my opponent forfeited, so I got a W0(0)0(0)F!

Re: LL83: Learned League

for the heavy water question: did anyone else specifically not put heavy because of the word heavier in the question. Even with the bad music/film question, this took away my win and gave me a tie :( Yup. I knew it was heavy, but then kept thinking it couldn't be since heavier was in the question. ...

Re: LL83: Learned League

Got Whitney by guessing a popular singer from 1990. Lost the coin flip between Denver & SF. Thought it was mint or treasury or something similar, but chose poorly. Ended up tying 7(5)-7(5). Not bad to start the season.

Re: FJs for the 9/9/19 week

I've not only been in the National Air & Space Museum, I also got lost in it at the age of 6. I wandered off to see a really cool exhibit, and my dad found me about 30 minutes later. I don't even think I ever realized I was lost. And yes, I got that one right. 3/5 on the week for me. On Tuesday I co...

Re: LL81: LearnedLeague

Still trying to decide if I want to re-up for LL82. I know if I don't do it, I'll miss it. But I also know that right now things are crazy and will be for the rest of the semester, and I don't want to accidentally forfeit. I have about 4 hours to decide....

A little late on this, but for Alex's birthday, the Cincinnati Reds' Twitter account used J!-themed fonts and answers throughout their game for the lineup & highlights. Two examples below: https://twitter.com/Reds/status/1153364350092140544?s=19 https://twitter.com/Reds/status/1153480533164400640?s=19

Simona Halep beats Serena Williams, 6-2 6-2, at Wimbledon for her 2nd major title. Serena remains 1 behind Margaret Court's record of 24 major singles titles. Novak Djokovic defeats Roger Federer, 7-6, 1-6, 7-6, 4-6, 13-12. The match was the first-ever match to utilize Wimbledon's new tiebreaker pro...

Re: TD 425: O-H-I-O (Final Standings Posted!)

Thanks for putting this together! My home-field advantage didn't help me much, but it was still fun!

And any fellow Ohio residents want to help me move in a week or two? I'll splurge on some Graeter's for any boardies who help in honor of this TD!

Re: Reretaken Down

Bottom of page 2? Unacceptable. Baseball fans be sure to check out the Google Doodle and be ready for some creative pitches. First time I've ever hit 800ft+ or 900ft+ home runs in any video game. In my 1st or 2nd game, I hit one 971 feet. From that point, I had to see if 1000ft+ ones are possible. ...

Did both of us say "The Ohio State University"? I remember before that was a thing and I'm amused it became a thing.
I'm currently a PhD student at tOSU, so you bet I did! Actually, I put THE Ohio State University. But close.

Re: LL81: LearnedLeague

I knew Ritter from it being in lots of stores when I lived overseas, especially the German import store I went to on occasion. My opponent's second best category was food & drink, and third best was film. Guess which two questions she missed, giving her an 8(4) - 6(5) victory? So much for my .790 d%...
