Re: May 30 2017, Adult Online Contestant Test Discussion

This is a start for someone that wants to make an official answer sheet. Post corrections and I'll edit them in as I have not looked up everything yet to make sure. 1. Poe 2. Unicorn 3. Humpback 4. Liberia 5. Homeland Security 6. Kiev 7. Sarah 8. Vodka 9. Becky Thatcher 10. 8 11. Mad Men 12. Austri...

Re: May 30 2017, Adult Online Contestant Test Discussion

I think I got 36 or 37 out of 50, which PERSONALLY is garbage, but if 35 is the passing score then I got it, but cut it WAY too close. I'm also kicking myself for Sarah, Farragut, glowworm, and Department of Homeland Security. UGH.

Re: Friday, November 4, 2016 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Good clues, but unfortunately Donna was very shaky throughout the game. Forgetting the phrasing, making wild wagers, double buzzing, and fumbling on important details to clues can easily add up and cost you your game. I mean she played well in the beginning but it's unfortunate she only ended with $...

Re: Thursday, November 3, 2016 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Got Lach Trash on William Jennings Bryan, the Narragansett tribe, and Pravda. Also, definitely agree that the FJ was so ridiculously easy. Darn you, Alex, your voice acting is excellent! In terms of category breakdown: J! Round: 3 correct on Non-Compote, 3 correct on Shakespeare Women (Regan and Gon...

Re: Wednesday, November 2, 2016 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Lach Trash for me on Burma and Vicente Fox. Also the FJ was wonderful. I love Orson Welles' work, though I immediately thought of him in The Third Man when I came to my answer, even though he didn't direct it. And of course, cue the Pinky & the Brain references. Also fun fact! He was used as part of...

I was also that guy who guessed "Horus" instead of Ra, but that's where my mind naturally goes when I think of Egyptian deities with falcon heads.

Re: Thursday, May 8, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Hey guys. I have returned! As always, I enjoyed the two rounds. Really fun categories; I was fearful that the "Initials to Roman Numerals to Numbers" category would trip up everyone, but hey, previous J! champions are playing. I got most of the answers in that category, though Ken was pretty fast. I...

Re: Thursday, January 30, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Holy mackerel, Arthur's a strong player. Pretty good show by him again. I suppose there will be criticism about his wagering but I really do like how he searches aggressively for the DDs. Unfortunately, that's a double-edged sword for him because while he can sweep categories, he seems to mess up on...

Yeah, Vaduz first here, too. Or, "Vatoots" as Alex says.
Looks like I'm also part of the Vaduz club too. Go team Liechtenstein!

Re: Wednesday, January 29, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Truly one of the most interesting conclusions to a Jeopardy! game I have seen in a long time. Arthur definitely knows what he's doing and his wager tonight was spot on. I also really loved the meteoric comeback Arthur displayed after losing everything in a DD (I got the answer, which was tempera; th...

Re: Tuesday, January 28, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Not sure if I should feel good for getting the FJ! on this one. I have many friends who are ardently critical of Ayn Rand. But I suppose since it's Jeopardy, partisanship and politics must be swept aside, even if it's only a half hour. I think this is bizarre sentiment. Was the question somehow end...

John the Baptist was beheaded?! Is this a running gag I'm missing out on? http://jboard.tv/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1657&hilit=baptist+beheaded#p89805 This is honestly the best way to remember that John the Baptist was beheaded. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1a/CaravaggioSalomeLondon.jpg

Re: Friday, January 24, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Absolutely adored the FJ! for tonight. Silent Spring immediately came into my head when I saw "Green Mantle" as part of the clue. Aside from the fact that I remembered the book was published in 1962. If only nonfiction appeared more often as an FJ! category. Got Lach trash on hinterland. Felt good a...

Re: Tuesday, January 21, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

It's too bad that the first round J! game was interrupted by a breaking news update about the snowstorm in my area South Jersey, by any chance? That happened to me, and I watch Jeopardy! on WPVI, the ABC station in Philadelphia. I live closer to central Jersey and I know it was badly hit by the sto...

Re: Tuesday, January 21, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I watched today's Jeopardy! game with a friend and it was fun! I think it improved my ability to hone my clue-answering skills and figure out my weak points. It's too bad that the first round J! game was interrupted by a breaking news update about the snowstorm in my area, but I suppose mother natur...

Re: Monday, January 20, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Felt good playing along today. 5/5'd both the Word Puzzles and 1970s No. 1 Hits categories! The Eagles clue was boss. There was an Eagles clue? I thought they were Elton John, Jackson 5, Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head, Gloria Gaynor, and Wings. I thought it was Eagles. Perhaps I'm confusing clue...

Felt good playing along today. 5/5'd both the Word Puzzles and 1970s No. 1 Hits categories! The Eagles clue was boss. I also 4/5'd the Animal Words category, though I choked on caballine. If only I remembered my high school Spanish and connected horse with "caballo." Meanwhile, the DJ round was alri...

3 points (H - Bhutan) everestian Woo! Surprised I got a low score on this one, but I ain't complaining. Interesting how it worked out to where Scotland was a unique answer. I had a feeling it would be the sheep one. Should've known that C was Guinea though. I would have guessed that but I completel...

I have to agree! This was a fun TD! First time I did it and I had a lot of fun with the identifications, especially the album section.

Can't wait to see the results!
