Re: Tuesday, November 30, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

This Final Jeopardy! was straight out of Ken's trivia podcast "Omnibus" -- there was an episode about sister cities back in 2020. (Link)

Re: Monday, November 29, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I didn’t know Ken grew up in Korea. Interesting. Wonder if his parents were LDS missionaries. Nothing to do (directly) with LDS -- he grew up in Korea because his father was an international lawyer working at a firm there. (He did take relatively frequent trips back to the U.S. to visit relatives a...

My point was that Sony's interest in promoting the Beatles is evident; in promoting Disney+, not so much Obviously, they're interested in getting paid to have sponsored categories, even if the money is coming from an ostensible competitor. (Of course, Sony doesn't have a Disney+ equivalent -- not e...

Since Ken and I both went to Douglas Adams book signings while in college, I assume we both saw him when he was touring to promote Mostly Harmless.

And technically, the entire station was not demolished, basically only the above-ground portion -- the underground portion remained relatively intact, and that's what's still in use as Pennsylvania/Penn Station today (although it's been renovated over the years).

All of the ones that have gotten the shot are not getting any type of booster and the ones that had yet to get the shot. Aren't going to get it. Without saying anything else about your post... hopefully the unvaccinated ones are adhering to your company's guidelines, and all other health guidelines...

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

I had a chance at the James Beard show sponsor logo since, long before my time, my grandfather was a milkman for Borden, but I just couldn't pull the cow name. The station that airs J! in the Tampa/St. Petersburg market, WTSP, originally had the call letters WLCY-TV... supposedly, the associated ra...

KSBW-TV NBC Salinas/Monterey/Santa Cruz is pre-empting tonight's episode due to the Project Community special called Honoring Hispanic Heritage. It will not air at all. Cue Twilight Zone music. I was just talking with a client about that station and who used to own it long ago. Who was it? Wikipedi...

Not only have I experienced an earthquake in San Francisco, I was at the stadium currently known as Oracle Park for one. It was very minor (didn't stop play or anything), and the organist followed it up by playing "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" during the next break between innings.

Re: LL Season 90

Does it? Many (most?) states have a minimum wage over the federal one, so they probably just don't care what the federal one is any more. Also, a lot of people are working from home and no longer regularly seeing the labor regulations poster in their office's break room. (If I recall correctly, the...
